My girls were 3-4. Try seeing a matanee or a cheep kids movie if you can. Our local theater has $1.99 specials during school vacations that are great to take them too. That way if it doesn't work out, your not out alot of money. I know some bigger chains have a special day each week like that as well.
not sure if there is a perfect age. My first son would sit still from the age of 2. His first movie was "Toy Story 2". M y3rd one is 3.5 and still won't really watch one. We've taken him twice to see Wall-E because he thinks he loves it, but he has fallen asleep both times!
I agree that the $1 movie is the way to go. We have been to a couple of IMAX films. they're good because they are usually only an hour long.
My sons are 3,5 and almost 4. We haven't been to the movies yet bcs even at home they don't manage even to watch jungle book til the end.
We go to the puppetstheatre every now and then. An exciting story told with "handdolls" (or how do you call them)
This is 45 minutes with a break in between and soooo exciting for them.
I was thinking of maybe going around christmas for the first time. Find a nice christmas animation movie or something and give it a try.
thank you to everyone my son is almost 3 and pretty active but the boy loves TV probably too much. One time we took him to see Diego live and he thought it was too loud. We may try a animated movie near the holiday and just see how he does.
