Well, this year the Calhoun family will be celebrating the fourth with a parade and picnic in our little town of Ross. It's so freakin cute! The kids decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons, strollers and themselves and parade down main street (all 3 blocks of it). Then we gather in the Ross Commons for a town picnic - there is face painting and games for the kids - it's too cute!
We are hosting a BBQ at our house and will watch the fireworks from our backyard. I'm sure there's lots to do around town, but it's going to be too stinking HOT!
This year should be very festive. We are heading to my in-laws river house for kayaking, floating, bbqing, water balloons, fireworks, patriotic desserts...you name it, we are going to try to do it!
We are celebrating our 29th annual 4th of July party. Complete with drawing contest, kid parade, obstacle course, pinata and fireworks. And did I mention the fabulous recipes we make every year such as our macaroni salad, chili cheese dip and 7 layers dips. Yummy! I blogged about it all on the 30daysof...inspiration blog for creators, authors, designers and moms. http://triciacohn.blogspot.com/2009/07/4th-of-july-traditions.html
