What Are Your Plans for 4th of July?

  • Rating: 5 after 2 votes
Well, this year the Calhoun family will be celebrating the fourth with a parade and picnic in our little town of Ross. It's so freakin cute! The kids decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons, strollers and themselves and parade down main street (all 3 blocks of it). Then we gather in the Ross Commons for a town picnic - there is face painting and games for the kids - it's too cute!

What are your plans this year?

My in laws are coming into town. We are going to a parade and maybe going to the fireworks. Other than that, not much else. Taking it easy!

Don't know I haven't thought that far ahead! LOL I know I'll be doing my radio show interviewing someone. That's about it. :-)

Our family will go see the small parade and then go to the carnival in town. We also will have a picnic, just not sure if it will be at home or at the park. Then we will end our day with the fireworks. I live in Marietta, Ohio so I like the fireworks for the Sternwheel festival in Sept. much better.

Going to my parents house over the weekend. We are going to make ribs. We par boil them with all kinds of spices but not oregeno or cillantro. After we par boil them we put a honey them and my mom's doctored b- b-que sauce.

The we have cole slaw, we use rice vinegar it makes it sweeter. My mom's homemade buttermilk biscuits. I wish I could master how she makes home made lemon meringue pie. Then we watch fireworks. After I come home I will be hitting the gym laugh and back on my diet. :)

Well, I know we'll being doing fireworks at home. Since my hubby's surgeries on his foot, I don't know about attending the fireworks shows around town. We'll probably cook out and have a good time at home!

We'll be heading down to Florida to spend the holiday with my dad--it's his birthday--and he's fighting terminal cancer, so we may not get the chance to celebrate with him again. It's always been a special holiday for us because it's his birthday, and now it's even more special because my youngest has a birthday on the 6th. Treasure every minute with your parents and your children!

I am a dual citizen (Canada and US) living in Canada. We celebrate July 1st so this year we will celebrate July 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th!! It'll be a party for the week!! Looking forward to it. We are going up to the cottage and hoping for no rain so we can spend those days at the beach all sandy and sunny!!

I'm lucky enough to live within a mile of Tradition Fileld, which is the spring training facility for the Mets (baseball team). They set off fireworks on both the 3rd and the 4th and they come RIGHT OVER OUR HOUSE. So, I'm going to make a traditional New England 4th of July (since we're New Englanders now living in Florida) - if I can find some Maine lobster down here and sit out on my patio and watch fireworks.

I haven't decided because it's blazing hot here in OK, so unless I'm in a pool, I'm inside! We have one of the best parades in the country here in Edmond, but it's just too hot for the little tyke.

I would love to watch fireworks, but my toddler goes to bed at 8:00 pm! I may watch from my backyard!
