I found a great recipe for sweet potato souffle in one of my church cook books (Forest Hills UMC, Macon, GA). It's become one of my family's favorites. Really simple to make. 3 C sweet potatoes, cooked or canned; 1 C sugar; 2 eggs; 1/2 C milk; 1/2 C butter. Mix all together and put in 2 quart casserole dish. Topping (the BEST PART!): 1 C light brown sugar; 1/3 C flour; 1 C chopped pecans; 1/3 C butter. Mix topping and spread over potatoes. Bake 30 minutes at 350.

I love Thanksgiving & have some great recipes....one of my favorites is an excellent "do ahead" delicious gravy. Can be made 2 days ahead of time.....here goes:
"Madeira-Mushroom Gravy" (makes about 3 1/2 cups)
Purchase a pint of high-quality "homemade" gravy from your favorite neighborhood store (Paradise Foods, if you live in Marin!). Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in large saucepan; add 1 large chopped onion. Saute until golden. Add 2 cups sliced & stemmed shiitake mushrooms; saute until soft. Add 1/3 cup Madeira, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary, 1 pint store bought gravy, 1 cup low-salt chicken broth, and 1/2 cup whipping cream. Simmer 5 minutes, whisking constantly. Season with salt & pepper. Enjoy!

I look forward to the side dishes most. I make slammin' Broccoli au Gratin & stuffing. My mother makes green bean casserole, glazed carrots and lots of desserts.

I hate to be so boring, but mine would have to be PUMPKIN PIE, for sure! Never had a pumpkin pie I didn't like, but homemade is always superior to bought.

I answered this one when I started same discussion on Nov 1st, but it's chocolate pecan pie.

I'd have too say it's my dad's stuffing recipe. Use any stuffing mix, add hot sausage, sauteed onions, granny smith apple, and craisins (he uses raisins). It's the best stuff in the world. I may have to make some tonight:)
