What Was Your Favorite Moment of 2008

  • Rating: 5 after 3 votes
I LOVE reading and watching "year in review" specials, so I was thinking it'd be nice to here from some Twittermoms what THEIR favorite moment of 2008 was! I had so many, it is quite hard to put it down to just a few. One moment was during the summer when I very nervously sent my son and daughter on a plane (by themselves!) to visit their grandparents! As we're waiting in the terminal, my daughter (the older one by 3 years), put her arm around her brother, looked me straight in the eye and said "Don't worry mom, I'll take care of him"! yeah, I got just a tad misty eyed! They might fight like crazy, but when it comes down to it, they'll always take care of each other!

Do you have a favorite moment?

This has been a good year so it's impossible to just narrow it down to one. We took our first ever family vacation and visited my Aunt and her husband in Redondo Beach for 8 days. We had such an awesome time visiting, hanging out, knottsberry farm and sight seeing.

Also last year was my 35th bday and it was the best bday party I've ever had. One of our good friends at the fire dept.'s bday is the day after mine so we had a joint party plus it was also a probie grad party cause the guys were officially hired on Feb. 1st. We went to the piano bar that is hilarious and we had a ton of people there. Lots of fire department guys and wives and lots of my friends from the gym, all meshed together having a blast. The bar loved us and asked us to come back whenever we could. lol It was so much fun and I deemed it my bday party place every year from now on. Everyone brings it up. We had DD's drive us home, but there is a hotel next door and I'll be making reservations for the night for many of us next year. lol

I'm looking forward to so many great moments in 2009. It's all about the moments.

We have many wonderful moments through the year but very special was when my little one went to kindergarten for the first day and his big brother, then 4,5 took him by the hand and said "I'll show you around and if you feel lonely, come to me. I am here" My 3-year old just looked up at his brother and said "sure, I'll be fine" LOL
He indeed has been fine. It was a very touching moment. My guys are growing up soooo fast.

Wow, what an amazing gift! My sister (2 years older than me) and i are really close, I wish I had something like that to give her. She is dealing with ovarian cancer right now (her surgery is the day after xmas!) so I'd like to come up with something to give to her, and I just can't think of anything.

Judi,

how sweet! How about you name a Star after your sister? She will receive a constelation map with the Star you name after her. NameAStarLive.com or StarNamer.com are two sites whey they sell them for reasonable prices......I heard you can do it for free....I paid to name a star after my precious daughter. I LOVE the thought of having one Star up there in our beautiful and immense sky named SADE. :) She LOVED the gift!
Just a thought....:)
My prayers for a successful surgery and a speedy and harmonious recovery. :)
Hugs.

Watching my boys excel at sports, school and being great people. Each one of them gave me a few awesome moments. You know that one that makes you feel like your heart is going to pop right out of your chest!

Seeing my eight year old's reaction the first time he saw his new baby brother. He was so ready to be a big brother and more excited than he had ever been in his entire eight years.

Gosh, there were so many wonderful moments. I don't think I can pick just one. My children (almost 5 and 3) can finally sit and eat dinner with us without separate meals or tantrums. My kids have great relationships with my parents who regularly take them overnight, but they're always glad to come home to us. It's Annie's last year of preschool. Sammy learned to work the computer. Annie lost two teeth. There's just too many to choose.
