5 after 3 votes The most favorite moment for me in 2008 was when 6 y/o granddaughter was in the local ballet production of Peter Pan. She was so excited, all dressed up in tutu costume. I don't think she ever could quite distinguish what was real and what was "pretend". After the performance, she loved greeting all of the characters, and I am sure in her mind she was meeting the real Peter Pan and Wendy. When we walked outside leave, she looked up in the night sky, and with great wistfulness said "Second star on the right and straight ahead till morning!" (if you don't know, that's a line from the movie) I was so teary-eyed, I had to stop walking.
I haven't had the chance to read all the responses yet, but I have to say that my most memorable moment was when my son came home from the Job Corps for Christmas and presented me with his GED certificate. It was something I had come to believe was not going to happen, and I was so moved his achievement, and the pride he took in giving it to me. Hands-down, the most memorable moment of my life as a parent.
