What Was Your Favorite Soap Opera When You Were A Teenager?

Was it General Hospital, The Young and the Restless or Days of Our Lives? Did you grow up watching your mom's soap opera like me? Maybe you still watch them today! Which ones were your favorites?

If you didn't watch that then you were out of the loop at Thanksgiving, because that is all anyone talked about (excluding adult males but INCLUDING my high school male cousins) My grandma would call on the days she volunteered to find out what happened. I really liked Capital (which was replaced by Bold and the Beautiful), that was probably the first soap I picked. Any of the CBS soaps are good, although I haven't watched in over 3 years.; ▶ Reply to This

Funny thing is here in New Zealand the Soaps are about 5-6 years behind, and as you say, nothing has changed - it kinda looks like it is now, but it isn't. I never realized how timeless and non-fashionable the characters are on soap operas.

Can't stomach soaps nowadays although I am a big Lipstick Jungle fan. Kind of the same thing isn't it?

My soap watching days (Plus watching Rompe Corazon while I was in Chile) prepared me to be a fan of Ugly Betty. It is so fun how they play with the soap genre.; ▶ Reply to This
