What Was Your Favorite Soap Opera When You Were A Teenager?

Was it General Hospital, The Young and the Restless or Days of Our Lives? Did you grow up watching your mom's soap opera like me? Maybe you still watch them today! Which ones were your favorites?

Does 90210 count? That is about the only 'soap opera' that I watched as a teen. :p I am still a fan of those actors/actresses! lol

Wow, I did watch what Mom watched and it was Days of Our Lives, Another World and Santa Barbara (2 that have been long gone). I watched The Yound and The Restless for a summer and funny as it is I turned it on about a year ago and I could still keep up!!

Days of Our Lives. Funny thing, now I know Pop Brady. He's a friend of my moms. Some of those characters were really annoying though. Can't stomach soaps nowadays although I am a big Lipstick Jungle fan. Kind of the same thing isn't it?

My soap watching days (Plus watching Rompe Corazon while I was in Chile) prepared me to be a fan of Ugly Betty. It is so fun how they play with the soap genre.

OMG! I love this question. My mom used to watch Young and the Restless and As the World turns..and I could remember watching them when I was five or something like that. Victor and Nikki...what drama! LOL Then I continued to watch and tape them for years...now they are DVR'd! Oh..and they snuck in the Bold and The Beautiful in between several years ago and I was like...what the heck...so i watch all three! As a matter of fact, my tv is on and Y&R is on now! LOL

All My Children! (which I haven't watched in almost 25 years) But when I was in High School, my two younger brothers and I would zoom home for lunch so we could watch All My Children...there were no means of recording programming, or watching the episodes online, so you had to watch in REAL TIME if you were to keep up with the story. So hilarious that my brothers were totally into it!!

General Hospital was my all time favorite. Remember Brenda and Jagger (Antonio Sabato Jr.). Max Scorpio and Felicia who was in the mental institution for a while. The original Lucky even though the one that plays him now is super cute.

Every once in a while I take a peek at the show. Its cool to see Jason and Sonny are still in it. Its confusing because the character that plays Claudia used to be crazy Carlie and the Carlie now was on Guiding Light as Reba's sister.

Boy, talk about bringing back memories............My bff in high school and I would cut class to go to her house and watch Young And The Restless, All My Children, One Life To Live, and General Hospital.

I was chatting with my Mom the other day and we got on the subject of soap operas, she has started watching them since she retired a few months ago, and she told me she started watching All My Children when it first came on and Erica Kane was just a teenage cheerleader..............lol

Oh, All My Children...Tad, Dotty, Liza, Dixie....I loved it. I also had a dream at one point that I lived in Pine Valley and *that * was a total hoot.

General Hospital!~!! I miss those days of the ambulance racing up to the hospital. And Scotty, Laura and Luke...my favorites to watch them in all their angst, hehe. I still sneak a peek once in a while, but it's just not the same. sigh.

Mine was "As the World Turns". Later, I watched "All My Children" as well. Today, I watch none of the soap operas except the daily news. There is enough excitement on there with the same subjects making news day after day and one improbable situation after another in real life. Who needs the soaps today? There is way more drama than we can handle on the news...especially if you include Entertainment Tonight.

P. S. My youngest daughter is named "Penny" after a character on "As the World Turns" because during the time she was born, my husband used to come home for lunch and we'd watch it together so we mutually decided to name her after the character.

General Hospital. I remember the day of Luke and Laura's wedding, all the neighborhood kids were called in to watch it. I've watched it on and off since then, even TiVoing it for a while, but now it's mostly off. :(
