Was it General Hospital, The Young and the Restless or Days of Our Lives? Did you grow up watching your mom's soap opera like me? Maybe you still watch them today! Which ones were your favorites?
Ok, I may be "dating" myself here with my age, but My Mom and I used to watch DARK SHADOWS...does anyone remember that. It was the SCARIEST soap opera on tv. With Barnaby Collins, he was the vampire....OMG...so scary when I was a kid, I used to hide my eyes! LOL
Another World, then Guilding light.. I can't believe this but I actually cut school one Friday to see a cliffhanger...

Days of our Lives, I would have the VCR set to record on days I wouldn't make it home in time. I remember going to my grandma's house on alot of my school vacations, and her and I always watched and when I was home, we would talk on the phone about what happened on the show.
I'm 40 and I have been watching Guiding Light since I was a youngster. It was one of the only soap operas on when I would get home at 3pm from school. My best friend watched General Hospital, so I remember the whole Luke and Laura marriage and I definitely remember Rick Springfield.
Although I'm a die hard Guiding Light fan. I still watch it every day (or at least DVR it). Unfortunately they have just canceled the show, so now I won't be watching any soap operas anymore. :(
I still watch soap operas when I'm off work. I've been watching All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital off and on for 27 years. Started watching the soaps with my nana when I visited her in the summer. Now, the writing is absolutely horrid on All My Children and General Hospital. Fortunately the writing team over at One Life to Live still understands what it takes to make a great soap.
On another note, the fact Guiding Light is canceled is a bad sign for daytime drama.
I don't watch Soap Opera's anymore, but I used to skip classes in High School just to watch them. I would watch Young and the Restless, All My Children, One Life To Live and then General Hospital.
General Hospital. My mom and Grandma used to watch and I got into it right around the time Jagger, Brenda, and the Quartermaine boys were getting introduced. I stopped watching for a while, and started watching again in 2005 because Sonny and Jax were still on. But, alas they killed Alan off in 2007 (I think) and I have refused to watch since.
