Was it General Hospital, The Young and the Restless or Days of Our Lives? Did you grow up watching your mom's soap opera like me? Maybe you still watch them today! Which ones were your favorites?
Another World. God, I loved that show. Watched from the time I was a little kid, 'cuz I had two sisters a lot older than me. Also loved General Hospital, but it doesn't seem to have the same quality of storylines it once had. *sigh* Maybe I'm getting old?
As a teen, I got hooked on General Hospital wondering if Robert Scorpio and Holly would ever get together. That led to As The World Turns and I was always glued to the screen when Royce was on the screen. I took on The Bold and The Beautiful simply because it's not every day you get to see a soap start. So jump in! But one day there was some alien story line on General Hospital and it all slowly died from there. It all became too predictable and sometimes silly. I guess it was just a phase. :-)
I wasn't officially a teenager yet, but my favorite teen soap was "Never Too Young." I would be very surprised if any of you had ever heard of it. I was pretty young, and my mother had forbidden me to watch it, so I had to hang out at the neighbors' homes to get my Tony Dow fix. Quite a change from being the Beaver's brother, that's all I'm sayin'.
Days of our Lives! I remember watching that (along with Another World) with my mom growing up. Even through college we had a Days of our Lives meetup on our dorm floor. I actually only stopped watching it a few years ago, but I still catch an episode or so every few weeks.
To follow in my mom's footsteps, I watched Young and the Restless. But, it was always SO serious.
I was a big fan of Santa Barbara...Cruz and Eden were the best. I also watched All My Children and General Hospital.
While I stayed at home with my daughter after she was born, I started watching Days of Our Lives. However, now, I don't watch any of them. The funny thing is now, I can flip through the channels and catch a show - and it seems to picks up right where it left off.
