It's cold and dreary outside - a perfect time to eat some yummy, filling comfort food! What's your favorite and why? Mac-n-cheese? Mashed potatoes? Apple Pie?

hmm kinda depends on what led to the need for comfort food!
I am a choco-holic, so like nothing better than a cuppa Lady Grey Tea and some white chocolate .. mmmm
But for those cold wintery days it would have to be Tuna Mornay and Cheesy Mash Potatoes! yummm

Mmmmm, tuna mornay. I'm a homemade mac-n-cheese girl myself. Add a little canned pumpkin and you have your vegetable!!

Hot tomato soup and soda crackers with lots of pepper. It's what my Mom always gave me when I wasn't feeling well.

I know it sounds weird, but it's something from my childhood at my favorite person in the world's house - my Grandma....eating graham crackers and milk like cereal. Yes, it gets soggy fast, so there's a bit of a strategy to maintain balance between soggy and crunchy!

Wow, your example hit a lot of my favourites! Carbs often do it for me, but the top all time for me is Oreos -- you can get them in Ireland now, but luckily for me, in much smaller packages. I'd eat the whole pack with a pint of milk!!! Second would be Green & Black's Organic Chocolate Almond bar. Green & Black are amazing organic chocolate producers based in the UK and their treats are amazing.

Anything with lots of cheese I sometimes eat mashed potatoes with melted cheese inside and parmisan cheese on top.

Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup or any kind of baked pasta

I am allergic to wheat, gluten, dairy, corn, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, coffee and chocolate! So that rules out a lot of the normal foods, but I love soy or rice ice cream, vanilla, covered in fresh strawberries.

Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes (yum!)

lately I have to say it is home made soup. Soooo easy.
Take a little onion (or leek) w/ some oil and fry it up (add curry if you want to spice it up a little).
Add some veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, yam, squash, zucchini - you choose)
cover everything w/ some veg or chicken stock and let it simmer.
Once all is soft and mushy use an immersion stick or a blender and whip it up to make it smooth.
Take it up another notch and add some coconut milk.
Even my kids love this.
Cheers,
