It's cold and dreary outside - a perfect time to eat some yummy, filling comfort food! What's your favorite and why? Mac-n-cheese? Mashed potatoes? Apple Pie?
Ok, Tuna Noodle Casserole is fantastic. my kids love it too. anything with cheese too. i've become a huge soup fan over the years too. almost any kind.
I'm seriously into chocolate for comfort food. When I'm feeling down in particular, I get such chocolate cravings! It's bad for my waistline, but I can't get enough of the chocolate!
My mom would make a Chinese dish that we called, "Beef and Tomatoes," and it'd be served over rice. And I'm not a huge fan of rice, but to eat this would be perfect. Now that I farm and grow my own tomatoes, there nothing better than this simple dish: heirlooms, thin slices of rib-eye, and ginger over rice. Top that with with a liberal sprinkling of toasted garlic chips. Thanks, Mom. I guess you're the "why" to this answer. Wish I had a photo to embed.
grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup (though I have to be careful with all of that dairy) and to make it even better a nice German beer to wash it all down with
Everything that I though of has already been mentioned. But I will say that there is nothing better then getting a hot pizza delivered with some pasta on the side...no fuss, no mess, all good!
Spaghetti with meatsauce. Gluten free, of course! I'd say dark chocolate of any kind, but I treat that more like a necessity....you know...something I should take every day with my Omega3s because dark chocolate is good for you. :-)
