I like it when my husband goes away on business trips. I forget about cooking real dinners, let this dishes pile up in the sink and watch HGTV in bed. How about you?

I actually LOVE it when my husband is out of town.....dinner is pancakes, I get the kids to bed earlier, I don't worry about emptying the dishwasher, and I can stay up late or eat a snack in bed if I want :)

However, I just last night, blogged about him being out of town b/c he's in Aspen on a 'business' trip - snowmobiling, drinking fine wines, staying at the St. Regis....and, well, I'm here with the kiddos. Jealous much - I am!

After 25 years of marriage and working running a business with my husban...having 3 kids...losing 100 pounds....I so envy the couple who have some time away from each other. Now, don't get me wrong....I like being married..however some time apart would be refreshing.
Here is a song by me from my 400 song fitness catalg to express how I feel!
Come on...take a break...strecth...do sit ups as you listen....sfter all....being fit and feeling healthy can keep any marriage spicy!
Enjoy!

YES! It's Mommy Time! I pick the dinner time, bath time and kid's bed times. When all are asleep, I break out the chocolate chip cookies and watch all my shows! It's a serious mommy time when hubby is working late hours or out of town...I love him dearly, but love my mommy time too.

Well I can't relax too much! I still freak out about the dishes however I can wear my pj's all day, not brush my hair, eat junk food and watch lifetime!

Tonight he'll be gone all night and I'm going to my friend's house, we are having a sleepover with the kids, ordering pizza and stuff, should be fun!

I do eat a lot simpler when dh is gone on business. My other boys (the three I call kids out loud) love having tuna melts and other finger foods. I don't mind one bit having the oldest cook for his younger siblings. And dishes piling up ... huh? We eat off paper plates. The few dishes we do generate I wash before turning in. I hate waking up to a dirty sink. (I know, let it go, girl).

You know what I think. I think my dh like it when I go away. I came back from a day trip, teaching in a nearby city and found him eating at the sink while our kids ate at the table. I don't let him do that when I'm around. LOL.

So makes me wonder. What do our hubbies do/think when we leave? Hmmmm.

How funny, the skunk thing happened to me to, only it was my dog who was stink bombed as well!

My husband travels a few times a month and I like having the house to myself but not for too long. The kids and I do whatever we want. The only drawback is that he usually cooks so when he's gone, I have to pick up the cooking. But that's easy - pasta or chicken nuggets for the kids and a big salad for me. Or even cereal! If he's gone over a weekend, I let one of the kids sleep with me. It's a special treat for them. Sometimes things go wrong when he's gone - one time the house got sprayed by a skunk. That wasn't fun. We sure do appreciate him more when he gets back!

My husband is away right now and I was reminded that Sight Speed is a great way to communicate with him when he's traveling. Free videoconferencing and video messaging so even if he is in a different time zone we can still "see" daddy.

Well I will say when my hubby travels extensively then I turn out to be the Married but Single Mom where everything is on me. It's hard though but sometimes I feel that as a person I do get sometime to be myself when he is away.
