Will a worsening economy force you to change the venue of your entertainment from restaurants, pubs and bars to your home? Will you entertain more at home in 2009?
We will be attending our annual New Years Eve Pow Wow that we help to put on for the public. It's a blast. A great place to celebrate the new year...no drinking, just singing, dancing, food and fun! This year we have a special guest attending Irene Berdard...a wonderful Native American Acress...you've probably seen her in something if you see her face. This is her official site. http://www.irenebedardanddeni.com/home.html. This year is just even more exciting having her attend :D
We're staying at home because my husband's on duty and will be on call. Otherwise... babysitters are an expense we can't budget for so we just stick to the house most of the time. It's cozy and romantic for me and the husband :)
I stay home so I don't have to deal with the drunk drivers out on the road. I will by some more noisemakers, maybe make some virgin punch play board games with my son while we wait for the ball to drop.
FOr the first time in years, I am actually spending New Years Eve out! Out, yes, but also close to home. Myself and the kids are stopping by friends houses tomorrow night. My last stop happens to be walking distance from my house. Not a great night to be driving!!!
Out at a friends house playing games and eating munchies... a potluck of munchies...I'm taking a artichoke/spinach hot dip that you eat w/ scoops...yummy!
I love to be the one to throw the party but this year the economy has impacted the amount of parties we have hosted and will host in 2009. For example, I am turning thirty on January 8 and my hubby was planning a fun party but I really want to go see my family in Florida . Normally we could do both but this year we can afford one or the other. I chose the trip BTW ;-)
I definitely will be staying home. We like to bring in the New Year with the kids. We plan a family day. The kids get to pick what we do and eat. It is nice and simple.
We are headed out to a neighbor's in about an hour. Several families, everybody bringing a dish, kid-friendly. It's great because it's 2 doors up, so no driving involved.
Aside from that, we haven't been to a big New Year's Eve "shin-dig" in years. I honestly do not like being out on the road. I know we could spend the night somewhere, but with a dog that makes it tough, too.
