I have been through many things that i have had to let go and let God. To many to say at the moment. Just wondering if any of you have this struggle?

good subject...I used to be such a victim to my past...I worred endlessly and felt sorry for myself...I was abused etc...had people do bad things to me...etc...I am what ya call the NICE GUY...Well the nice guy isn't the nice guy ...I learned...because you are better to stop making excuses for everyone and just confront and deal with people and don't feel guilty...I could care less what people think about me now..who cares...half the people you won't even know 5 years from now..

another thing...when I was a teenager I had a big mouth, smoked pot, etc..for a little while...then I decided I wanted to be 100% a christian...some people would point out my past....I would say but that was yesterday...that person isn't who is standing here today...so bottomline

Forgive yourself, forgive other people and who cares...we've all done things we aren't proud of... If someone is judging you...trust me on this...I used to be a church secretary...they probably have a ton more things they have done...Be free...and enjoy your life...stay away from mean grumblers...make friends with people that just love ya....I don't care what nationally, what you 've done...I just love people...I don't like it when someone does something that will hurt them...but I still love them. You are extremely extremely EXTREMELY valuable like a diamond...if the dirt from past is off...say yeah...I used to but not anymore...Who cares...hang with the winners in life...goodness it's part of you...use that experience to help others but don't feel condemned...Look forward the best is yet to be! I learned a secret never feel sorry for myself...and don't look back...past is dead...future is wonderful for me!

Sometimes we try to get over things but that is really not the best way to do it. Getting over means going over it, around it, and under it, instead of getting to the heart of the matter. Doing all those things is really avoiding the problem instead of facing it head on. It might be better to get through it by going through the problem. You don't have to rehearse every thing about it each issue but honestly look at it and make some decisions about it.

When we think about our problems we feel all the emotions associated with it and it seems like we are re-living all the bad stuff. The memory is literally embedded in our nervous system so it feels very real. The mind is a tricky thing that is why it is so important to watch your self talk. It doesn't help when others consistently remind us of our past either.

I recommend reading "Who Switched Off My Brain" by Caroline Leaf. She was on Joyce Meyer's show recently and she has so much to say on the subject of life issues. Joyce Meyer's, Battlefield of the Mind is also a good book.

If you are open to additional solutions try EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). It is basically confronting your problems, past, etc head on, but in a gentle way, and accepting that you still love and accept yourself as well as God's love and care. I've tried it and it works. Old traumas, fears, and issues practially disappeared. I don't feel depressed anymore or feel angry with people that hurt me in the past. It is truly emotional freedom. I still have some work to do but I don't feel stuck and I know that I have truly let go and let God do what he wants to do for my life.
