Will a scary economy change the way you celebrate Halloween?

It may be a little early to think about ghosts and goblins, but I would love to know what you think .

Does the recession have you re-thinking your usual halloween customs?

Will you cancel your annual party, make a costume not buy it, or cut back on the candy for trick-or-treaters?

Or will it be business as usually?

Business as usual here. I'm not crafty enough to make anything...unless my daughter wants to be a ghost. :)

Biz as usual.
Found my son's costume's already...just have to buy it.
$25 dollars
BUT
I do get his pic taken in it.
That's how I justify the cost. LOL

I am actually ready for Halloween/Fall to be here.
Bring on the cooler weather & the fabu decorating style that comes with it!

I love Halloween, it's my favorite holiday. I was so excited when we moved to this street last year, all the kids I figured we'd have loads of trick or treaters..... and then halloween came around and we got ONE single trick or treat going kid. Then my kids couldn't find a place to trick or treat.... no one had lights on. I'm sure it's going to be worse this year so I think we'll just have to find something else to do.

I'm pretty sure it will be business as usual here. Although I am considering making a costume instead of buying this year, but only because I will never be able to buy what I have pictured in my head ... now that's a scary thought :).

I love a good celebration and what's not to love about Halloween.

My family owns a costume shop and although we are beginning to see some customers who are being a bit more frugal buying accessories instead of full costumes for example, most customers say that this is a time for them to forget about the bad economy and enjoy themselves, their kids, and their friends.

Business as usual here. We don't spend a lot to begin with so I don't see any reason to change anything!

I will be posting tips and ideas for celebrating on the cheap! Trying to get a good feel for what you all need. Sounds like Loretta needs to have a party and kick start her neighborhood!

not a chance, I will celebrate just like we do every year. The whole pinata, trick-or-treating and party thing, since my oldest can't trick-or-treat we will make it fun for him too.

Business as usual! We want to make Halloween memorable, and still plan to do it with out going over the top.

It's the best time of the year for the little ones and big ones. some candy and a ghost you are ready to go...I love the excitement the kids get running to the door!
