The first person that popped into my head who would fit this perfectly is Angela Shelton. If you've never heard of her, she is an amazing woman doing amazing things. She has a documentary out called Searching for Angela Shelton---she set on the road to make a documentary wanting to survey women in America; just see what they were doing, how women were doing around the country and found that over 70 or 80 percent of women she interviewed had been through trauma and abuse in their lives. While talking to these women she also reflected on her own childhood and the fact that she came from a childhood of incest and a broken home. Her documentary changed the lives of so many people who had also been through trauma and abuse in their lives and since then she has also published a memoir, Finding Angela Shelton.

She is such an outstanding, motivating, and inspiring woman. You can find her at http://AngelaShelton.com if you're interested.

Kim,

Just sent you this email about Ederle (eder lee) Greene:
For your series Star Power: Women On The Rise, meet Ederle Greene, a mother, business woman of color and entrepreneur.

Ederle worked for Citicorp in New York for two decades and was transferred to Tampa Bay, Florida about five years ago. Soon after her transfer, she had a series of small strokes that left her unable to return to work. That is when she decided to fulfill her dream of starting a line of all-natural personal care products. and After years of research and experimentation – a lot of it done in her kitchen, Ederle’s first product – the Sacred Glo™ Lotion Candle, has just become available on the market.

Sacred Glo Lotion Candles are all-natural, soy-based essential oil candles that have a rich aromatic smell when burned, and double as creamy, moisturizing skin lotions for the body. They are available in two sizes and several scents, and can be purchased on line at: www.sacredglo.com

Ederle runs the company with her two daughters Robin and Stephanie, and would be a great interview. She worked in corporate America as a Black woman for more than 20 years, raised two daughters almost single-handedly, started her own business despite a disability, and even had time to become a founding member of the Working Women of Tampa Bay, Florida.

I think Ederle would make a terrific guest for your show. Let me know if you want to try the candles, too. You can reach Ederle directly at: info@sacredglo.com

Best regards,
Karen Sperling
