"like my uterus is a tracking device" How funny is that! There's my chuckle for the day! : )

I agree, there is only so much room in the memory banks to store everything that needs to be remembered. We just sort out what we believe is important and what is useless information.

I refer to them as occasional brain farts!

On top of that you seem to be the only one in the house that knows where everything is, like my urterus is a tracking device! I'm suppose to know where everyone's stuff is even if I haven't touched it!

I have to agree with everyone. We do have too much to do and I have always said the brains went out with the baby. I think the lack of sleep plays a part also. With so much to do we don't get enough sleep. It does get annoying to forget things. To help me I put reminders on my phone and it reminds me to do things.

Kirsten - I believe it's because only women have to deal with a million and one things in their lives. We work outside of the home, we are entirely responsible to raising our kids, and we are still expected to shoulder most of the housework. Now you tell me, is that reason enough to have memory lapses? My fiance always thinks he has to call and remind me about stuff, and sometimes I appreciate the reminders, but most of the time it is really irritating, because he doesn't have half the stuff I have to deal with. Not even close.

Hi Kirsten, and welcome to the over 40 club! Oh yes, after 4 sons (dealing with pregnancy memory loss) and 4 step-sons. I'm lucky to remember what happened yesterday much less a month ago. They're lucky I still remember their Birthdays!

My best friend (soon to be 47) was just complaining about that. We think what every happens during pregnancy, you just never fully get it back!!

Hello to all the Fabulous 40's woman in the group.

I just turned 46 and my biggest struggle is my memory. It makes me feel like I am 70, that I can remember things. Anyone else have this issue?

I know Shelia, I'm not in hiding just been real busy at work and at home recently. I've had a lag at work but not for long. Been twittering when I'm suppose to be working. SHHH!
Attended the the hallmarkmom twitter party last night, goodnes, what a blast that was. Too funny.

Sheila - I'm 44 and I haven't gotten anything from AARP yet. Hmm.. maybe I'm ridin' under the radar? Hi by the way. Haven't heard from you for a long time. :)
Sheila Stokes Comment by Sheila Stokes on August 14, 2009 at 3:54pm
Karen, I have been getting mail from AARP since I turned 40. Also get mail from the silver hair plan. Geez. I don't think you can join AARP until you're 50 or 55 so I think 10 years of sending me stuff is a bit early. Oh well.

Hey all, I just turned 48 on Tuesday! Does that mean I only have 2 more years in this group. Will I have to join 50 and Fabulous in 2 years. LOL!!! AARP is already sending me mail! Anyone else getting that too! Nothing like making you feel old.

Had a great time. My husband grilled out and spent time with friends and family. Went the Rascel Flatts concert on Sunday and got to do a Meet and Greet with Darius Rucker (Hootie from Hootie and the Blowfish). Got great pics, they're on My Page slideshow. Check it out.

Regards!
