Are moms interested in using netbooks?

I have been reviewing different types of netbooks and think it is a perfect gadget for mom mobile computing. Some of the keyboards may be smaller - but close to full size. But they the weights are around just over 2 to 4 pounds and they are small enough to fit into a wallet. You can't use them for heavy duty computing (like editing graphics) but they can be used for anything moblie like checking email, online social networking, watching movies etc..Would a netbook be something you would be interested in? If so, what would you want it to have?

Lorry-
Do you take your laptop with you for moblie use often? If so, how do you carry it? Is it light enough that you could carry all day? I am really interested in learning mom's perspectives on laptops and netbooks. Maybe my problem was that my laptop is too heavy to carry all day so I like having a laptop for home, local and meeting use - while the netbook is more of a moblie device I carry with me often... I can't type that fast with smartphones:-)

When I was a student, I had a laptop, and it was heavier (just because it was older) and I carried it all day. I can't think of a reason I'd need to do that now, though.; ▶ Reply to This

I loved how compact it was but I encountered so many problems with it during that time. I couldn't find internet connection to my home wireless, I kept getting a popup message saying that I had all these viruses. Supposedly this was a brand new purchase so I'm not exactly sure what happend. It was really annoying. My husband called the company and they went through several different things with him and told him that it seemed like the wireless card was no good and the function key was not working. That was it for me. I returned it the next day and got the MacBook instead. I haven't had a problem with it yet. Love my Mac.; ▶ Reply to This
