Am I the only "chick lit" fan here? Most of the stuff I read is from this genre. I like it because the stories are generally good and fun and they are quick reads. Who is your favorite chick lit author?

I need to pick up on that series again! I began reading it a few years back, but mommy brain has left me forgetting a lot of it. LOL

My fave writer at the moment is Jennifer Weiner. I loved, loved, loved "Little Earthquakes."

If you like Jennifer Weiner & Chick Lit in general, I just finished a collection of short stories called "American Girls About Town" with stories by authors such as Jennifer Weiner, Lauren Weisberger (Devil Wears Prada), Adriana Trigiani (Lucia Lucia), etc.

Cheers!

I love to throw a chick-lit book in the mix of what I'm reading. I like all the ones mentioned and Jane Green (Jemima J) as well as Janet Evanovich. Not sure if she's chick-lit, more mystery, but that Stephanie Plum character always makes me laugh and I like that in between serious books.

No I love chick lit too. I'm reading Be My Baby by Zoe Barnes at the moment.

I love the lightheartedness of these books. I love the shopaholic books too. I like to feel that I can relate to the characters.

I love reading Meg Cabot (Queen of Babble series was great!! Just finished the third book.), Jane Green, Jennifer Crusie, Julia Quinn, Amanda Quick/Jayne Ann Krentz, and Christina Dodd. I really enjoy being entertained. And I love that it takes me out of my everyday life!

I've written a book that falls under the umbrella of "chick lit" although not in the same vein as Sophie Kinsella. MRS. LIEUTENANT: A SHARON GOLD NOVEL is about four young women in the spring of 1970 during the Vietnam War. The book was a semi-finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and has gotten lots of good reviews from book bloggers.

Each chapter is from a different woman's point of view as she has to adapt to being an officer's wife as well as adjust to the religious and racial tensions of that period. (The book is based on my own experiences.) You can read the first four chapters at www.mrslieutenant.com. And if you have any questions, let me know.

Hi! Yes, I read quite a bit of chick lit and/or humorous women's fiction. Emily Giffen, Jennifer Weiner, Beth Harbison are all wonderful. My women's fiction reviews at Athenasbookshelf.com have quite a bit of it. My Husband's Sweethearts and Driving Sideways are two really good ones that came out this fall.

My novels are also considered chick lit by some (first person POV, some snark), but my publisher is marketing my new one (Dating da Vinci) as a romance but it's probably closer to mom lit or light women's fiction.

Let me know if there's something you think I would love! :-)
