Have you ever read the Alex Cross books by James Patterson? They're very hard to put down. The first is Kiss the Girls.

Another that I enjoyed was The Lovely Bones (I forget who wrote it)

Alice Hoffman also writes some interesting stuff...

Maven from A Fabulously Good Life

Its old, but The Joy Luck Club, or The Hiding Place. Not modern day drama by any means. Thought provoking and heart wrenching at times.
On a lighter note when you just need an easy read, an airplane read so to speak try "Hopefully" a light hearted romance available at Amazon.com.

I really enjoyed The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie - a great mystery (and looks like the start of a series).

I review books on my blog as well:

Recently a friend of mine suggested these books to me, I am yet to read them but I hear that if you like drama and suspence novel ,these two won't dissappoint you: "The Associate", by John Grisham and "The Firm" by same author.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Larsson. SO GOOD. The sequel I like just as much. Awesome and different than others I'd recently read.

I really enjoyed Joan Didion's biography, A year of Magical Thinking. It is a true story about her life and family, beautiful and also haunting. I still think about that book and it's been awhile! Also, I liked The Good Earth a novel by Pearl S. Buck it won the Pulitzer prize in 1932 and is about family life in China. Have fun reading everyone!!

Did you ever read Derailed by James Seigel (spelling?) It was a movie with Jennifer Aniston. If you saw the movie don't judge the book by it! I didn't like the movie but couldn't put the book down. Tons of suspense.
Good Luck! :)
