twitter moms: the influential moms network

I have run out of books to read....help me find something..I just finished the World of the Lupi series 1-4 by Eileen Wilks. This past year I have read all up to the the latest books in these series: Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series, her Harper Connelly series, JD Robb Eve Dallas series, Kim Harrison the Hollows series, Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake & Merry Gentry series', Stephenie Meyers Twilight series (I AM SO NOT A FAN). I am now looking for a new series to get into...any suggestions? I also read the Harry Potter books, Scott Westerfield's Uglies series, Diana Duane Young Wizard's series, Holly Black's Septimus series and Modern Tale of Faerie with my older kids....I am a horror, sci-fi, fantasy junkie who loves romance novels contemporary & historical. My favorite authors are the above listed as well as Jennifer Crusie, Janet Evanovich, Diane Mott Davidson, G.A McKevitt, Hannah Howell, Catherine Coulter, Michael Connelly, Faye & Jonathon Kellerman, James Patterson, J. A. Jance, Jayne Castle Jayne Krentz Amanda Quick, Jude Devereaux, Nora Roberts, Stephen King...

These should give you some ideas of types of books and authors that I like. Anyone have something to suggest?

The Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz is very good. I've also heard that they have started a graphic novel series with the same character.

If you've not yet read King's The Dark Tower series, that's another good undertaking.

I've recently started the book series that inspired the Showtime program "Dexter". Book one is titled "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" and it is phenomenal. Completely written from the serial killer's point of view.

I'm anxious to see what other suggestions you get!

Wayfarer Redemption series by Sara Douglas, is an amazing read. LOVE LOVE LOVE
Robin Hobb has a couple of good series
Melanie Rawn, Exiles series, there is another but can't remember
Edward Rutherfors is historical nonfiction twisted into a fictional story, kinda cool all centered in Ireland
Jennifer Fallon has a few good books
Juliette Marillier (sorry I know I botched her name) sevenwaters trilogy and foxmask & wolf skin

Hope this helps you through the New Year

Charlaine Harris, also, has 3 books in a series- Something about Shakespeare? Shakespeare's Landlord?
Lily Bard is the heroine. I just ordered the Tea Garden Murder by her to. I ran out of books, too.

Stephanie Myers has "The Host"-- it's a bit more grown up than Twilight but same level.

Have you read the Mayweather (Mayfield?) witches series?

Since you like Diana Mott Davidson have you tried JoAnne Fluke? Or Tamar Myers?

If you love history, I'd recommend Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. It's listed as time travel romance, I think, but she writes so well and is really captivating. On the romance front, it's there, but it never gets too hot & heavy. I'm on the third book, and I think I like them better with each one I read.

Read all of those...not certain if they do a graphic novel that I will be interested. They did a graphic novel of Anita Blake (LK Hamilton) and I wasnt impressed. I have read the Dexter series as well!

I have read the Shakespeare Series as well as the Aurora Teagarden series from her. Great Reads! I will check out The Host but I have to admit I am now biased and not in a good way towards SM.

I was very disappointed at the END of this series. I loved the Wolves of the Calla. It had to be my favorite of the series but it seemed as if the last book was just ended...instead of closing the story. Maybe I expected too much.
