This is a good reminder Dr. Burke-Galloway. My mother is great with this sort of follow up because she is on a pension. However, I almost never question anything and end up paying money unneccessaril-I'm sure. I have a question, do you know of a pediatrician who would be interested in moving to Dallas Texas. There is an opening in my Dr.'s office, But, she is looking for someone who is comfortable with both conventional and naturopathic treatments. Thanks.
Hi Toni,
Sorry for the delay in my response and thanks for yours. At present, I don't know of any but your pediatrician might contact the National Medical Association in D.C. that is the AA national physician's association. I'm sure they'll be able to help her.
I recently wrote a blog post about the need to check your statements and how much money this has saved me. I received a bill once from the hospital where they said my claim was denied and I investigated and it turns out they never even billed the insurance company. Another time, they bill a health plan with the same name in a different state rather than my insurance carrier. This type of things happens so often that as a matter of course you should check all your statements not just your insurance statements but your credit card, bank, etc.
