Jut wanted to say hi. I'm a mom of 2 boys with allergies. My 7yo gets allergy injections weekly, and my 2yo is headed down the same path as soon as he's old enough. The allergy meds on the market only make them comfortable enough to sort of get through the day. They also both have eczema associated with their allergies. Unfortunately they get it genetically. I have severe allergies and asthma, and my husband has fall allergies. I think the hardest food sensitivity so far has been my oldest's red dye issues. It makes him out of control hyper, and I've found it in so many foods.

Just a quick "hi," and glad to have found you. My daughter (22 months) is allergic to the general (dogs, cats, pollens, dust/mites), but severely allergic/intolerant to foods. Anaphylaxis to corn (all forms), red dye and apples and severly intolerant to dairy/casein, gluten/wheat (but can have oats) and soy. It's been quite a journey!

i am a UK mother of four children, one of whoom has multiple food and environmental allergies.
I have worked with the anaphylaxis campaign, and have voluntered for allergyUK, and the campaign over the years. i give free presentations on allergy management to all pre-schools, schools etc, ( my work background was in senior roles in various childcare establishments)
I also volunteer for a new charity , the www.alexcurtis.org
giving presentations to a large group of young teens on asthma, its management, and care during asthma attacks, etc etc!
As a family we have featured on bbc breakfast news, sky news, and a documentary on allergies.

to date, our son, has allergies to,
peanut ( of course!)
some beans
kiwi fruit
pineapple
yeast extract ( and possibly food with vascoactive amines)
dog
raw egg,
other ones, dustmite/cat/tree pollen.

has grown out of tree nut allergies, hay fever, but outgrown and re-developed raw egg allergy, can still eat cooked egg.

Just a quick introduction. My 4 year old (almost 5) has outdoor allergies. She has been having issues with drinking regular milk and the doctor thinks she has an allergy to it due to the pain in her stomach she gets after drinking it. They wanted to test her but she wouldn't allow them to do it last monday. So we'll have to wait for her to get a little older to do it but it wouldn't surprise me if she is because I'm highly allergic to Milk and everything else.

Hi all! Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to the group and share why I have joined this group - As a nutritionist, I deal with many families who have multiple health conditions and allergies. The biggest challenge has been to find a meal that supports everyone's health, while being simple to prepare and delicious. I developed a tool, MyFoodMyHealth.com, that will create safe, enjoyable meal plans for your entire family (with a profile for each member of the family). It's easy to use and allows you to eliminate any of the 1,200 ingredients on our site from your meal plan that someone may be allergic to. I hope that you will find the website to be useful to you and your loved ones!

There are two kinds of several kinds of allergic reactions but the two most obvious are IGE and IGG mediated. A good specialist should be able to explain the difference to you Cindy, but only the IGE mediated kind show up on blood tests. IGG reactions mainly occur in the gut (as you are describing) and care sometimes labeled as "intolerance" or "sensivity." You really need a doctor who can help you with a simple elimination diet for your son to sort out if foods are the cause of his discomfort or not. You could waste money and time making assumptions without a diagnosis, yes?

The consumer Product and Safety commission reported that 150 common household chemicals have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancers and psychological abnormalities. As well as significant rise in athsma in children and adults. I'm part of a company that has toxin free alternatives. They work increadibly and are more economical. If anyone wants to know more about the company we do live presentations on line so you can have a listen. Decide for yourself. It's done wonders for my family.

Could it be milk? Lactose intolerance or milk allergy? That could be. Maybe a doctor's visit to figure it out. It could very well be lactose intolerance based on a similar story of a friend...

I can't pinpoint any particular food. I really can't figure out if it may be a food allergy or an environmental allergy. With the tummy aches and diarrhea made me think food allergy but I may be thinking wrong.

Cindy, have you noticed any of these problems occurring after any particular food? (The allergists we have seen test for foods to which they have reason to think there is an allergy, based on apparent reactions)
