My 2 1/2 year old is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs and garlic and also has asthma. She just started pre-school and this is my first real exposure to other people feeding her when I'm not around. Scary!

Since being diagnosed, we haven't had any major problems - just rash breakouts occasionally which have been handled with Benedryl.

My 4yo daughter is allergic to Milk, Eggs, Cashews and Sunflower seeds. She's on the low end of the scale, just vomiting if she drinks the wrong milk, but we don't know what her reaction to the others is as she has never had any reaction that we know of. Just the skin and the blood testing.

Great to find a group here!!

My daughter has a severe peanut and tree nut allergy. She also suffers from other allergies and is asthmatic. We have her asthma well regulated (just turned 7)...but was hospitalized right before her 4th birthday for her asthma and was in the ICU for 5 days. Her doctor is now recommending allergy shots. Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm on the fence about it.

I have two highly allergic children. My six year old is allergic to treenuts and peanuts as well. My three year old has those allergies, plus corn, coconut and raspberry too.

So scary, but we've learned to always travel with meds to never eat anywhere we're not sure of, and to travel with LOTS of our own food. ;-) Glad to find a board for us allergy parents to give support!

My son is now 15 and has allergies to peanut, dust mite, pollen and dogs. Kevin was diagnosed when he was 3 years old after a severe reaction causes by cross contamination. He carries an Epipen and Piriton at all times. Has been very difficult keeping him safe though out the years, but I think I am more worried now he is heading to his later teens and wants to be independant.

My 4 year old son is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, soy, wheat, rye, sesame, fish, poultry, lamb, pork, red meat, dust, mold, roaches, hamsters, dogs, cats, horses, pollens - I am not sure I have even remembered everything. We have never had to use the epipen, but he has been hospitalized several times for respiratory distress.

My daughter is 6 years old now and was diagnosed at 4 months old with off the chart allergies to eggs, peanuts, cats, and dogs. She also has severe asthma and is hypoglycemic.

The dog allergy has since dropped away and we have a Havanese named Rosie which is a good dog for her asthma.

At 2 years old she was accidentally fed lasagna containing eggs in the ricotta cheese. Within two minutes she couldn't breath, was vomiting, had diarrhea. It was horrible. We rushed to the hospital and she was given her first epi shot.

Since this incident I've become the food allergy nazi at her school and everywhere else. Does anyone share that feeling? Always being the "trouble maker" when it comes to class parties!

I have 5 yr old twin girl's. They both have allergies to Peanut, milk, egg's, & soy.
Fortunately they outgrew the soy one! They both got diagnosed at around 3 1/2 mo.
They also have Eczema which started around 2-3 mo. it was terrible! there whole body was covered!
One of my girl's was put on neocate when she was about 6mo.(she could not even tolerate soy formula, my other one could.) It's been a challenge but now that we got the eczema under control w/ the help of a great Dr.

My 19 month old son is allergic to both milk proteins. He also has asthma and seasonal allergies. We have had a difficult time getting him to gain weight and he has been labeled Failure to Thrive. He is currently about 20 lbs 12 oz. I stopped working in July so I could keep him at home. He was just getting too sick at daycare. Constant colds which aggravated his asthma and developed into pneumonia. Plus now I can monitor his food intake more and make sure he is not eating something eat shouldn't. His blood was tested for celiac but came back with no indicators but I know that is not a definitive test....

My 4 year old daughter is allergic to Amoxicillin but I rarely think of that as an allergy. Which is wrong, I know.

My son is allergic to wheat, rye, barley, oat, egg, peanut and tree nut. He recently outgrew his milk allergy which has been such a blessing. He's also has numerous seasonal and environmental allergies and also has illness induced asthma.

I have 2 boys, ages 8 and 5. The 5 year old has a life threatening allergy to peanuts and has asthma. He's had many mysterious hives over the years, but one significant reaction after eating an ice cream sundae. Had a Reese's piece, bit into it, spit it out, and then had trouble breathing, trouble speaking, spit up, hives everywhere....then the PA diagnosis! The 8 y.o. has some environmental allergies, no food allergies.

My 18 month old was diagnosed at 9 months with allergies to peanuts, eggs, and milk. He is also allergic to penicillin. Our allergist said there is about a 95% chance he will develop (my husband and I both have it) as well. My husband and I have food allergies but nothing as crippling as Jake's. It is horrible trying to feed him! He is picky and trying to find something for him to eat besides jarred babyfood is a nightmare! I am tired of buying babyfood but when he refuses everything else I give him at least he will eat that. I have sat and cried more than once trying to get this boy to eat. I just don't know what to do!

Hi - Just joined this group. My son is six and has IGE type allergies to egg whites, dairy, soy, round legumes, sesame, tree nuts and peanuts. We are doing some cool things with egg yolk and baked and boiled egg right now, under allergist supervision. He's already outgrown some stuff and we use a conventional allergist as well as an alternative osteopath.
