Vanessa,
Thats why my mom converted her home with Melaleuca Products.
Two of my sisters had cronic asthma. Once she got rid of all her regular products with theirs they hardly ever had to use their puffers at home. It really improved the air quality in my moms home. My sisters are now melaleuca clients of their own. They can't controle what is out in the environment but they can controle what substances are in their own homes. If you don't know about the company already contact me so I can lead you to some info. This is why I'm doing the business now. I'm proud to promote them and let people know there is an alternative. It's not the ANSWER to all our health problems but it sure is a great start!
Great news that your son is doing well. It is wonderful!
Keep passing on that info it is so important for us moms to educate eachother.

Our son was diagnosed with asthma as an infant. He has had two treatments from the nebulizer each day since he was a year old. Since no one in the home smoked, we had to look at other causes. Our pediatrician informed us that common household products such as disinfectants and his bath soap could be responsible. We were shocked to hear that Inhaling these fumes over time does lead to asthma and other respiratory conditions. We did a clean sweep of our home and gained knowledge in the late 90s, he has a clean bill of health today!

In 1998, an estimated 17 million Americans had asthma. Today, asthma is on the rise. Studies point to increased levels of air pollutants, indoor allergens, a decline in the amount of exercise we get, and rising obesity as factors in the increase of asthma.

If anyone out there knows about melaleuca and has not looked into it I say take a second peek. Everything they make is Toxin Free for your home. There are no products that can harm you or your children. I've been a customer for 4 years now and my mom has been since 1987. Since the discussion is about allergies, I wanted to inform you all that it is very unlikely that your children would react to their products or that any of the products would aggravate any child with asthma. If you konw of someone that is part of Melaleuca ask them to help you sign up. Otherwise contact me. It is my home business as well but if you know a friend that has mentioned the company to them. Tell them you want to take a second look. Otherwise I would be happy to help you out.

Hi, my son is 15 and has allergies to peanuts, mould, dust mite and pollen. He had his first reaction when he was 3 years old and now carries an Epipen and Piriton at all times. I think I worry more now that he is heading to his late teens and is becoming more independent.

Hi Im from England. My first baby, Georgia is 19 weeks old and allergic to cows milk. I am too, so know this battle well and have already been told this was my own fault for not breastfeeding! I have to admit though I am worried about what else she is allergic too and we have been told she cannot have full allergy testing until she is 1. Being a mom can be tough cant it!

Hi Everyone. I have son age 7 yrs old who is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, red dye and other food allergies. I read labels on everything and sometimes have run into people who do not understand the severity of being allergic. Sometimes they can be quite rude. But I push on and keep being the advocate for my child. I am so happy about this group. I look forward to talk with everyone.

Hello. I myself have severe food allergies that were not discovered until I was 24 years old. I subsequently had my oldest daughter allergy tested and she is only allergic to dust mites. Thankfully. However that is all I was allergic to as well until I was an adult, as confirmed by allergy testing as a child for myself. My youngest daughter isn't even two yet and she has asthma and is allergic to wool. I have held out on having her tested officially for allergies until she turns 2 in April. I sincerely hope both of my children will stay allergy free. It is quite cute however when my 4 year old gets very upset by people at Costco for instance for offering her Momma something that has nuts in it to sample. "That will make her very sick she says." She also won't allow anyone to cook with nuts even if I'm not around such as when she was making cookies with her aunt. So cute.

HI Mini! Welcome. Are you familiar with FAAN (Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network)? My daughter has Hyper IGE syndrome and so many food allergies I would need a page to list them all. I know it is hard to manage food allergies at times, but it will get easier as you find products. This site is a great resource for products, strategies, and airing out frustrations. Good luck!

Hi everyone! I just joined Twittermoms. My 2 year old daughter is allergic to eggs, dairy, peanuts, treenuts and peas. Living with food allergies has been heartbreaking at times but doable.
