As I said if a show is going to have a character with a disease process at least address it correctly. Despite the fact that she is struggling with being diagnosed with Diabetes it really does not reflect the real world. Just disappointing to see what little concern the writers have for such a difficult disease to manage. I know my son is a diabetic and on a insulin pump and he was even was annoyed with the misinformation and what was shown. Wrong way to give an insulin injection, ketone strips spilled all over which is not part of daily routine, trying to redo the kitchen (for what reason?).Cannot wait for the next show and my guess they will say she cannot have cookies. It is all about carbohydrates not sugar. However, who knows maybe Claudia Joy will be cured by the next show as I noted they solve all their problems in one show or at least by the next one. Really use to love the show but now it is just getting sloppy and predictable. One thing they were correct on and above their level of technical knowledge is that a Type II diabetic may need to be on Insulin but this individual is usually treated and managed in a hospital not in a office setting. I was wrong in my statement when I said it was not their job to educate the public. It is their responsibility to address it correctly if it is going to be part of the show. Some people with very little knowledge will walk away thinking this is the way it should be handled. I don't care about Claudia Joy's struggle just represents how misinformed the writer's are about the disease.

Give them a chance. I don't think it is to educate us though. And they haven't talked about it a whole lot since she just found out and is struggling with coming to terms with it!

May not be watching this show much longer. The way Diabetes is being handled is all wrong. It is more than "passing out". Not a word about why she would "pass out' and that would be caused by hypoglycemia. I am sure the story line is not to teach the public about diabetes but at least handle it correctly. Also, a nurse does not move down the ranks to EMT. It is the other way around. This show should stick to army life and not handle anything medical unless they do their research better.

My son and I drove by one day, you really can't get to close to the set unless youare realllllllly early. My son, however knows people who are actually in the movie. Some of them are from Charleston and acted with him in improve and things like that before they became famous.
