I prefer the name "disbeliever" over Atheist, because I don't like the extremism that denies all faith, but I do disavow faith myself. I identify myself as an apathetic agnostic. ;) To really confuse people, I'll say I'm a Kimboist (my nickname plus -ist) and that I believe that my path will lead me to my own truth. :)

Thanks for the welcome! I have read through the 3 discussions that have started and I already feel at home here. I am not an Atheist-I'm Pagan-but I deal with a lot of the same BS you ladies have been describing. I have been called nearly every unflattering name in the book, to which my reply is usually thank you. =) If I am feeling particularly feisty, I point out that the holy book tells them to love thy neighbor and their words aren't very loving LOL

I think we should let them read our board and see that we're normal. We don't worship Satan. We teach our children morals, do volunteer work, etc etc.
Proselytize them right back if you get a comment from them. We need more members over here ;-)

Thanks. :) Exactly...just because we have a different belief about the world and how it works, doesn't suggest that we are somehow wrong. While I believe that just about anything is possible, I make the choice to believe in my own reality (which is wild enough as it is *grin*) and make my own decisions (and pay my own consequences).
