Any one else have those days?

I use disposable diapers. Two of my four kids were formula fed. Sometimes (usually) my house is totally trashed, with toys and books everywhere. And I do not feel guilty about any of it, which makes me a bad mom. :-D

My kids are crazy silly as is my husband. I am a terrible at keeping my house clean and having anything to do with the kitchen. My kids will never know the joy of cookies made from scratch - only from a tube made by Pillsbury.

I was always career driven, did not plan on having children and played rugby up until I got knocked up and had my oldest, got married and had another 20 months later. Ever heard that song..."Best Mistake I ever made!" (I know, it's country.) But i love my girls but I do believe that some of the best lessons have to be learned on their own...hence..my membership to this group!

Hi, fellow bad mommies!

I'm Jenn Belden /mommy_grrl
I'm from Barrington, IL (a NW suburb of Chicago)
I'm (gulp) 40
I have two kids - Maddie (2) and Sam (4).
I'm married - it will be 6 years in May
I DO blog: Mommy on the Rocks www.maddieandsam.blogspot.com

I'm a SAHM. I got married at 35, was pregnant two months later (just turning 36), and the rest is history. Both kids are in a Christian preschool, Maddie 2 days a week (wishing it was every day - her, not me) and Sam goes 1/2 days 5 days a week, and loves it.
They never fail to amaze me nearly every single day, and they infuriate me just as often. I wonder frequently if I would have had more patience at 25 than now. Woulda, shoulda, coulda, right?
Sam is a rocker in training - he says he will play guitar, drums, and piano when he grows up, have a tour bus, and live with me forever. Maddie is all girl - she love shoes, hats, purses, and bling. Especially tutus. She is a doll and a mommy's girl, much to Daddy's chagrin.
I was an art major turned finance major in a past life. One of the best perks of being called mom is all the crafts! I think I like them more than my kids.

My hubby travels a lot for business, which leaves me a single parent during the week.

I am a american, born of mexican parents who looks asian and sounds country...and my birth certificate says white. I am speak english, spanish, some italian and sarcasm. i love my kids and love them more when they are asleep/quiet. I don't let them drink carbonated beverages, only buy one bag of cookies and chips that needs to last a week when I go grocery shopping and you will be hard pressed to find coke, pepsi, mountain dew, etc in my house. If you are thirsty, drink milk or water. I will punish you by taking your most precious and prized items like your WII, DS, or PSP away in a heartbeat. i will tell you like it is and when you don't like it...it won't ruin my day. In fact, I may even smile a little. If you repeatedly ask me something, the volume on the tv, radio, ipod will go up. dinner is what it is and if you don't like it, you must not be hungry. I am truly a bad mommie. lol
Ok, all meaness aside. We are a great family. We enjoy going to the movies and can appreciate those times but they are not that often....can you imagine paying for 7 people to go to the movies....sheesh. My kids are all straight A kids who love (really hate but what do I care) to do their chores when they get home. We have a puppy who yelps at the door to crap but will piss on the floor in heartbeat and walk away nonchalantly. His name is Scrappy. He cherishes the ground I walk on. I love him...that is why I tolerate his peeing. Dinner is always a big deal at my house because we all help and you're invited anytime you like.....anything else? just ask.
I love this group....great discussions.

This is definitely the group for me!

1. Victoria Leather - not quite learnt the art of internet etiquette yet.... Hate beinggg
2. Gloucestershire at present by way of Singapore and Kent.
3. 34 with the mental age of a 10 year old when I'm arguing with the kids/husband/useless taxi drivers/the list is endless......
4. 3 kids - g aged 10, b aged 5 and g aged 1 next week.
5. Married for 9 years in April - yep, bad catholic girl not only sex before marriage but a baby too to show the world how corrupt I really am!
6. Had a blog when in Singapore www.theleathersinsingapore.blogspot.com which is is now a little out of date, but soon you'll be finding me at www.justafewmomentstomyself.blogspot.com Also on twitter under my coy online name of victorialeather

7. 3 great children with 5 year age gaps between them, partly due to the time it takes me to come round to being pregnant again plus the problem of staying pregnant (many miscarriages). My life as you would read it on paper is nothing like the reality of "me" so I seem to spend a lot of time surprising/disappointing people depending upon your outlook.

I'm a SAHM at present though am spoilt with a housekeeper who came to UK with us from Singapore (see, that's one of the "on paper" bits). Love being a mum but like most things, the reality is far tougher esp with one child in the house with ADHD. Am germ & mess phobic, little bit control freaky but see nothing wrong with kids having Fat Ron's for dinner (McD), eating sweets and watching TV for hours when I'm unable to organise them something more constructive. I would probably scare you all away if I regaled you with my true bad mother tales.....

Shall we get into a nature versus nurture discussion? I'm a writer and started blogging and twittering because I needed a new outlet and some structure to work around to meet minimal life demands. I enjoy my online life more than my brain dead suburb. The most fascinating, nice people are online.
