Introduce yourself - how do you give to charity

  • Rating: No Rating
I'm really trying to help spread the word about BloggesGive. We are asking anyone that has a giveaway blog to help. If you can ask for product to giveaway on your blog, could you ask for one more to give to charity? Who could say no to the cute kids from The Center for Courageous Kids? I hit up the PR reps that I have worked with and I have one item on the way to BG. Just think, if everyone was able to send one item the items would add up quickly.

I personally use coupons to give food to the local food bank. I'm determind to teach my children to have a giving heart.

Louise - Great thing you are doing here. Will follow your advice about posting something on my blog. Any specific organizations you want us to suggest?

You can suggest organizations to put in the list to give to and companies that you think might give. Trisha has a link where you can sign up a charity that you believe in.

I hope to raise my boys with a giving heart too. Our youngest son was born with a rare orthopedic condition that only affects him physically. I believe they will grow up more compassionate and caring individuals after being exposed to our friends and their children. Sometimes all it takes is a list of ideas for people to start giving back. I just posted a challenge on my blog: 40 Days, 40 Random Acts of Kindess urging readers to do something for someone else and not promote it. Help someone but don't promote yourself. http://tinyurl.com/c47gd8

We do many things in our family to teach our children how to give. We sponsor a child through Compassion International, we also sponsor a Christian couple who are leading a chapter of Chi Alpha at the University of MN Duluth. In addition, we tithe weekly, give to a variety of charities and help others out that are in need. I am so excited to be a part of BG. :)

I co-founded a company called KidsGive that makes Karito Kids products. KidsGive gives 3% of the retail price of all Karito Kids products to children's charity Plan. The really cool thing for moms is that your child gets to choose how to help. They go online, enter their special code and choose the food, health, school or home projects in countries around the world.

I'm not sure if I qualify but, for every purchase of my new children's book "Two Snowflakes" I'm giving $1 to the Fetal Hope Foundation to raise awareness of TTTS and other fetal syndromes (something we almost lost our own little snowflakes to).
