One thing my husband and I do to ensure our kids get a healthy start to their day without taking too much time is Overnight Oatmeal (check out our blog for more info). Basically, we put steel cut oatmeal (the healthiest type of oatmeal) in a 2 quart crock pot set on low overnight. When we wake up, it is hot and ready to eat and the kids love it with a scoop of apple jelly or a sprinkle of brown sugar.
I'm looking for more ideas for quick and easy but healthy and filling breakfasts to give to kids on school days when mornings are frantic. Does anybody have any ideas?

Tiny sandwiches usually work for us especially on, as you said, frantic mornings. I give my preschooler a glass of milk and a multigrain bread filled with Nutella hazelnut spread [which I came to know is very filling and nutritious and does not make kids hyperactive (as sweet stuff can be known for), and substantially reduces unnecessary snacking during the day], or orange marmalade on whole wheat toasts. I alternate with cereals with tiny slices of fruits she likes, e.g. strawberry, peaches, banana. I usually join her for breakfast, and its quite a treat for me too. :-D
