twitter moms: the influential moms network

I am concerned about blankets on top of babiies faces in the car seat carriers. We all do it, but some make me worry. I have seen thick quilts (sometimes more than one) laying up against the babies face. We wouldn't dream of doing this in the crib, but why do we do it on the go? Try putting the blanket over the handles so their is air between the baby and the blanket. Also, when you get inside, take it off the face. This really stresses me out to see so many babies with thick blankets on their face and the mom leaves it after they are inside. Just thought I would vent a little! Looked like a good place for it.

My son has a very light weight afgan he uses in his crib...but I don't let him sleep with thick blankets. I cover Parker in his car seat with not only a snuggie thing made for putting in the seat and covering the baby but also with a blanket, but I only do it when I am outside. Like when I walk to my car, once he's in there, I uncover his face. I do throw it over the handle, but he is good at pulling it on his face, that's why I don't let it be over him in the car.
