Newborns need boundaries too!

I am a firm believer in letting them know you are the mom right off the bat! Believe it or not, Newborns are already "Testing the boundries!" Here is my favorite example: Putting them in the car seat. First, make sure they are fed, dry, and comfortable. Then, put them in the car seat. Some will cause a fuss and try and put up a fight. This WILL happen at some point in the babies life. Just all do it at different times. The bigger the child, the harder it will be to do step two. Step Two: No matter how bad the baby/child fusses, DO NOT STOP putting them in the car seat. If you simply must get them out, drive around the block first so they don't know they have won the battle. The earlier they know you finish what you start the better!
