I am a christian woman that believes & uses Law of Attraction. I am curious to find out what my christian sister think about the LOA. I would love to get your honest opinions. I am very mindful not to be greedy when using LOA. I have seen it work in my & my family's lives. As well as prayer. My belief is that they are not too far from each other. When praying, the bible says to ask for your needs. LOA asks the same.
(Matthew 7:7 KJV) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
(Matthew 7:8 KJV) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

My husband and I also believe in the Law of Attraction and they are quoting from Matthew. I did find a Christian version of the Law of Attraction at the Christian bookstore written by Dr. Harry McCloud and another author whose name I can't remember right now.

LOA is the Law of Attaction. Simply put, the law of attraction states that “Like attracts like.” What this universal law tells you about your own life is that the thoughts you think, feelings you feel, words you say, and actions you take all consist of energy that attracts to it more of its own kind. That is, negative energies attract negative energies, and positive energies attract positive energies. Kind of like the genie in the bottle, ask & you shall recieve. I know at first blush it sounds a bit weird, but I can tell you that I use LOA & have reaped many benefits from it.
If you are interested I have some ebooks I can share with you or I can suggest reading the Secret by Rhonda Byrne. You can also research it online. You can find many free sites & info on line. I will tell you that it has been life changing. This along with prayer & my faith, has made my life a truly blessed one! Hope this helps. If not, let me know & I'll try to get some info for you....

Great topic, Sonya and truly a powerful and potentially controversial one at that.

I do believe that God has instilled in us power (through the Holy Spirit) that is greater than we can imagine. I too agree that Matthew offers step by step instruction on how to open ourselves up to that power and to that which we attract. If we think, worry and talk negatively, we attract negative into our lives. If we think, act, and speak optimistically, we attract just that. I have seen it happen in my life as well. It is powerful.

You had mentioned the book, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and as a believer I cannot endorse this book. I believe in the "Law of Attraction" but what she shares is based on the universe, not what God wants for us.

As my husband and I watched it, not once but twice, I couldn't help but feel that this teaching is not God inspired and I have talked with more than one faithful follower who has become confused because of it.

A great book, besides the bible is The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale.
This is packed with how to pray the law of attraction and is filled with verses and action steps as well as testimonies about results. It is an "oldie but goodie" and one I highly recommend for anyone!

Thanks for sharing, Sonya!

Blessings!
