Hi~

I grew up in Brooklyn,NY. Lived there until I was about 28 years old.
Moved to the suburbs because houses were untouchable to purchase!!
Huge difference in everyday life. I was in denial for about a year or so.
I am out here on Long Island,NY about an hour & a half from Brooklyn.

My experience so far is that every one has to know your business.
Amazing ~ it's actually funny because it shows me that they need to find a hobby!!

As for the schools ~ they are Awesome!! But don't forget I am paying high property tax. So, it's like I am sending my kids to a private school!!

If I could afford to move back ~ I would in a heartbeat!!
I love Brooklyn and the diverse cultures!!

Hi all. We had a great time, this year was a milestone for us. Our 10 year old went trick or treating with just her friends this year. Living in Chicago, the kids have a way of seeming a bit more adult, but in a strange way I'm more protective of her. But the group that she went out with our kids we've known for 3 years so I felt pretty good. She had a great time and felt a bit more grown up. How was your Halloween? Do you do anything different trick or treating in the city vs your suburb friends?
