Looking forward to further communications with you all. onelove

Hi Everyone! I'm Kim and I'm the owner of http://www.gadbaby.com where I sell GAD (green acre designs) diapers! I started cloth with my oldest son when he was about 18 months old, and my youngest is now 8 months old and has never touched a disposable.

I love talking about cloth diapers, and dream of diapers....lol

Hi ladies!

I'm a WAHM to 3 kids, with #4 (another girl!) due this summer. We started cloth diapering when my now 3 year old son was about 18 months, and then my 2 year old daughter was CD'd from birth! I'm excited to be able to use them again with our newest addition!

My favorite diapers are pockets - esp. GAD's....I'm going through a GAD phase right now. LOL

Can't wait to get to know all of you!

*hugs*

Hi everyone! Thought I'd do my intro... I am new to Twittermoms and twittering. I have a couple of blogs (see my profile). I have a 6 month old DS, my first baby. I had zero experience with babies as I have never been around any. I was determined to try to be 'green' and had started with G-Diapers when DS was 2 months, but once I discovered they end up leaking BF poo onto the liner each time I ditched that idea. So since with G-Diapers I needed to wash with every poop, I thought I may as well try the cloth. I love using cloth! It sure makes diapering so much more fun. I decided to buy one or two of various kinds to see what I like best, so my stash includes BumGenius 3.0 One Size Pockets, Happy Heinies One Size Pockets, Baby Kanga One Size Pockets, Bum-Ware AIO, Drybees AIO, Berry Plush AIO, and prefolds with the following covers: SugarPeas, Bummi Whisper Wrap, Stacinator So Simple Diaper, Maple Sugar Designs Fleece. I ended up trying so many I don't think I need to buy any more! Ha ha. I think I like the pockets the best, however I do think I like the prefolds despite not liking them at first. I like that you can adjust the prefold around the legs how you need them. I also like that with cloth, I never have any blowouts!

One thing I do struggle a bit with is the extra bulk with some of these diapers compared to the disposables, and my son is a chunky monkey. I also have not yet dared to go overnight with cloth - DS seems to wet a lot during the night and I don't see how any of these cloth diapers will be able to handle it! So yes I'm supplementing with disposables, it's made the transition easier so far.

My diaper pail is now starting to retain a smell, so any advice on what works for you to keep that at bay will help!

This was longer than I meant it to be, sorry for the long read! Looking forward to hearing feedback! Thanks everyone!

Thanks! I've already joined a yahoo sewing group, just haven't jumped in and started yet. I haven't had a chance to pull the sewing machine out yet. I can't wait to get started though!

Katee, you can find lots of information on sewing your own diapers at www.diapersewing.com or just google it and you'll get a lot of hits. Of course, we're here to answer any questions too. I own Strawberries 'n' Sunshine and would be happy to answer any questions for you.

With the birth of my son in 2005, I discovered cloth diapers and love them. We used them through potty learning and had a wonderful time trying all the different brands. We mainly stuck with pocket diapers. They were our first love and they work wonderfully. I now share what I've learned in my retail site WeeWillieWinks.com and I write with others in the industry on my news site ClothDiaperNews.com I also host a monthly meeting of the Orlando Cloth Diaper Lovers and am thrilled that so many families now see cloth diapers as an option.
