Hi everybody -

Its great to be organizing a fun filled evening for all those stressed out moms out there - some place to unwind, relax and just have unadulterated FUN !!

The event is being put together to help 2 not-for-profit organizations - WOMEN AWARE (www.womenaware.net) , a domestic violence women's shelter and ASHRAYA (ashraya.bravehost.in) , a mentally/physically challenged destitute children's organization.

The event was planned to showcase and encourage every aspect of being a "Supermom" (which every mom is striving to be) - Fitness, Creativity & Social skills .....hence we start with a Fitness round where every mom is given the choice of either doing a 5K Run, a Relay race (fun relay which includes changing diapers, picking up laundry and making PBJ sandwitches) or Hula Hoops (get those hips to move, baby :-)) ......and then we move onto more creative pursuits - again moms are given the choice of taking on any of the activities like Arts, Crafts or Performing arts (everything will be provided for the mom so that she enjoys displaying her creative skills)....

and then the Final Q&A Round - to understand how well she knows herself and the world around her...

Lets not forget the FUN stuff which the Family will be enjoying parallely - the face painting, free martial arts demo, food stalls etc.

Tricky Tray tickets will be also given to the participant as part of the registration and so not only does she get $40 worth goodies but also a chance to win gift hampers and prizes worth $1000s' of dollars worth from the likes of Pepsi, Avon, J&J etc.

All this will be happening with some great Live Music being performed in the background.....and with a very unique Live Fashion Show as a bonus.

The event is happening on October 3rd, 2009 at CANDO Fitness, Forrestal Village, Princeton NJ from 4 pm onwards.

Cal University the online University has announced its Scholarship Essay Contest 2009.

Winner of the contest will be awarded a scholarship amount of $3000 to be used while a student at CalU.
Cal University will also award additional scholarships of $2000 (to be used as a CalUniversity student) to all students who will participate in this essay contest. The last date for submitting your essay is 30 September 2009

The topic of the essay contest is “In light of the current economic scenario, define your vision of what a ‘true education’ should give to a student.”

In their essays the participants would be required to provide answers to some intriguing questions about education like: Is our education system keeping up with the times? Are our students armed with the right skills to face today’s competitive world? What are the attributes that a good education system must provide to its students to make them competitive and employable in these tough times?
