How early did your child's temperament reveal itself?

Hello new here! I have two children Lilly age three and Ben age one. Lilly slept in bed with us for the first five months, Ben for the first eight months. We let them sleep with us until they decided to move. how does a five month old and eight month old let us know? Well when they slept fine by themselves and cried in the bed with us! LOL If they wanted to still cosleep they would still be able to. Glad to have found this group! Co Sleeping rocks!

Wow, I'm really glad I found this group!

I started co-sleeping with my baby girl when my husband's leave was up and I was the only one there to get up with her at night. It was out of "necessity" then but now I couldn't imagine her being down the hall in her crib. I love getting to hear her giggle in her sleep or being close when she wakes up and says "Momma?" We all love the closeness. I think we may keep her in our bed till she's about 2 years old. I keep pushing the time frame back a little :P

Angela, there are as many different opinions on the "right" age to go to the big bed as there are people! ;) IMO, no, 3 is not too old. If you are all still happy and safe, then go for it. I know some mamas who bed-share until 7 or even longer and their kids turn out fine. Other mamas put their kid's bed right next to theirs, or the kid starts out in their own bed but joins mommy and daddy partway through (or first thing in the morning for snuggle time!) so it's not all or nothing if you do think it's time to transition. :-) Good luck!

Ok ladies get ready for this, my daughter is 3 and still sleeps with me and my hubby! We need to get her in her big girl bed I know but how? My hubby and I still like her there.I have breast cancer and still going through surgeries my hubby is a fireman/paramedic and works 24-48 hours at a time so when he is home he misses her. Is 3 way to old to still sleep with mommy and daddy?

I have always co-slept with both my children (ages 3 an 6 now!). I think it is wonderful - it bonds you to your children in ways you can't imagine. Children are only little once - co-sleeping is just one way to prolong those magical moments.

I love sleeping with my daughter who is 5 months old. I have the crib right next to my bed for some reason i just feel like she is better off with me. She used to sleep in her crib, but she came down with an ear infection and that was that. It is easier to BF her in bed anyway.

We co-sleep with our 6 month old...I don't even know why we have a crib...we never use it?

I have a nine month old that sleeps with me. Only until she gets that last bottle feeding. As soon as she gets it, i can ease her in her bed. Now, I have a two year old that i can't seem to keep in his own bed. It is like I can put him in his bed, later on in the night, he is right back in my bed again like i never moved him. Now for my other kids, they will come in my room and make a pallet on the floor on the weekends. So i have to be careful when i get up in the middle of the night because I MAY STEP ON A CHILD. LOL You would think they would love being in their own room. But i guess not.
