twitter moms: the influential moms network

I'm assuming most of you are revving up for recitals. List the dances your kids (or you) are participating in this year!

You can tell us the dance title and perhaps the song and style of dance. You can even describe the costumes if you want. Some of you will have a short list and others a looooong list. But I thought it would be fun to see what everyone is up to this year.

If your recital has a theme, check out our other post - What's Your Recital Theme?

Wishing everyone great performances!

DD did a ballet routine to Teeny Ballerina and tap to Babyface. They were both really cute. I was impressed with the dance recital as a whole, it was very well done, great costumes, good dances, and I've never seen one where every single one of the tiny tots was actually dancing!

Sounds cute! Always nice when the little ones are well-prepared!

cherish the moments, my little dancer is now 18 and starting college soon. I do have some great memories in a scrapbook where she recorded her dance memories. Which we re-designed so all dance mom can one day enjoy. www.dancescrapbook.com

My DD is 3. This will be her first recital, she is so excited! It is on Sunday and dress rehearsal is on Saturday.
Her tap song is "Straw-Buh-Buh-Buh-Berry Shortcake" and her ballet song is "If You Can Dream".
I really like the ballet song, it is from a Disney Princess CD. The tap song is cute too, the first 2 or 3 times... I am so tired of it now, luckily the girls are cute. LOL

Best wishes for your little one's first recital... and for yours (particularly when they're young, the event is just as big a deal for moms)! Hope it all goes smoothly!

My duaghter (10) just finished fer 4th recital at Kane Dance Academy in Riverside, CA titled "Enchanted Seasons." She danced in the show opener (which is for the scholarship students) to Zipede do dah (sp?) and got to wear an outfit of choice that looked like she was at the park which was a florescent green bermuda short with a torquise and flor green and white tank. Then she did a hip hop to Just Fine in red and black, a ballet to Here Comes the Sun with an orange and red outfit, lyrical to Don't let the Sun Go Down with an outfit that was orange, yellow, and red, Tap to Good Enough was a shiny yellow for the level 2 tappers which she is, Singing was a Summer Medley of songs and they wore their recital shirts with jewels all over and jean shorts, jazz to Walking on Sunshine was a really cute yellow and gold glittery outfit and her 3 acting lines were in the fall season which sshe was the fairy fireglow and wore her lyrical outfit. She did wonderfully and can't wait for scholarship auditions in august. =)

We are actually starting a new season. My daughter just made the #1 Hip Hop dance team in the world again this year and I do mean WORLD!! we have been so busy traveling and performing non stop all over the US our last stop was in April to Florida for the Worlds dance competition and we won!!! We are so excited still about it. If your interested in seeing the dance check it out on youtube ECB Street Elite Sr. World hip hop champions. She is wearing a red vest and black pants.
I am excited about starting another year.. The teams have gotten HUGE since the big win. But the more the merrier we don't do recitals with this team but do perform on tv the news and trying to get on a local talk show "Better in Connecticut" We just got approached by a sponser who also sponsers the Boston Red Sox! This was all new for us last year coming from my dance studio I do miss having my recitals and all that excitement but I do not miss the stress the week b4 showtime.. i'm sure you know what I mean. Different kind of stress now but love it.. good luck all~
