I know a lot of you lovely ladies use PSE or PSP, but I'm wondering if anyone is using an app designed specifically for digiscrap as opposed to general image editing. I've tried a couple that have some neat features that general image editors don't have, but I'm finding them to be underpowered with the editing capabilities. If you use or have used an app like this and could give any positive or negative feedback about them at all, I'd appreciate it!

There doesn't seem to be a lot of information about the program on the Creative Memories site, and I have a Mac so I can't try out the free version for myself. Would you mind telling me a bit about what you like about it and what you can do with it?

Thank you! That helps a lot! :-)

If anyone wants to describe any other programs I am still listening. I have looked at iScrapbook and iRemember and would love to hear about any others as well.

I use the online Studio 2.0(soon to become 3.0) software offered by Heritage Makers.
It is highly intuitive and it allows you to create various sizes of scrapbook pages, books, posters, canvases, cards, calendars, even playing cards and cookbooks.
You can get a free Basic account at www.preservemyheritage.com.
This will allow you to use every functionality of the software freely and have access to a limited amount of backgrounds/easypages/templates.
There is the possibility to have access to 38000+ digital scrapbooking elements and 1400+ completely customizable templates, by choosing the premier membership.
I love the fact that everything is online, so I don't need to save anything on my computer and my projects and pictures are safely stored and accessible at any time, from anywhere.

I am a Personal Publishing Consultant, and I can give you more info if you desire to know more.

You can look at a couple of my projects on my profile or even on my blog to have a small idea of what you can create: http://PreservingHeritage.blogspot.com

I am sorry for my delay in answering this! I think you will find many of the programs do not do what you want them to do over time. Also, many of the programs to do have the ability to print in 300 ppi or offer graphics in that resolution.

The majority of the digital scrapbookers use Photoshop Elements (or the full version of Photoshop), followed by Paint Shop Pro.

I do think that if you visit forums a lot, you'll eventually see something you want to try to do and if you do not get either PSE, PS, PSP, you'll find you are unable to do the task.

I guess I am looking for more specific information than that. I am currently using a general image editing program (not one of those three, but close enough… does everything I've needed from it) but I miss many of the features one can take advantage of in a program that knows what your end goal is. I don't think anything currently exists that will truly make me happy so I'm working on making my own software. ;)

What is it you want the program to do that Photoshop Elements doesn't do?

I use PS on a regular basis because all of the other programs I've tried do not do as many things as PS does. So I was getting frustrated with them. Once you learn how to use them... (and don't let people scare you - they are not that hard to learn - I've taught for over 5 years) you will never consider anything else.

As one example… select a set of photo corners and automatically place them on the corners of a photo. Obviously I can still put photo corners on my photo in PSE, but I'm talking about those little things that a scrapbooking app can take advantage of because it "knows" you're scrapbooking as opposed to the other million things you can do with an image editing program.

In iScrapbook, I could select several elements and click a button to align them horizontally, vertically, and with even space between them. But I couldn't, for example, recolor an element. That was unacceptable to me. Now I can recolor, and I can end up with things that are aligned and evenly-spaced, but it's far from automatic. (Forgive me if PS has this feature since the last time I used it. I hope you can see the point I'm making regardless….)

The point is not that image editing programs are hard to learn. I'm not scared of PS or PSE at all. As I said, I use a similar program. As I also said, all the scrapbooking-specific apps I've seen are underpowered, which is WHY I use a similar program. I just thought I'd get some feedback from other scrappers, but I guess my post is being read in a completely different way than I meant it.
