An Open Letter … and it’s ridiculously long.
As I said in a previous post, my inbox is increasingly stuffed with
emails from distributors from all different companies asking if it was
true that I was leaving Network Marketing. That alone is strange for
me as I am pretty much the type of person who hangs out in
the background.
Well in fact it’s only a half truth. The other half is that while I am
not leaving this great profession, I am leaving behind my business
after many great years.
It marks not really a career change, but rather a progression into
‘a bigger league’ … to coin a phrase.
However as I’ve said in an email to associates & those I’ve helped
through phone & emails, irrespective of their company …
… I do have to eat my hat on this one! Why?
Because as a Management Consultant & as a Network Marketer,
I know, and have seen countless companies burn in flames as they go
down within their first year.
I have advised people, particularly if they were NEW to NM, to ‘cut their teeth’
in a company that is older than 5 years. I have advised
people not to fall victim to the ‘shiny new ball’ syndrome and MLM jump
into every new launch that comes along.
All wise & well grounded advice one may say.
Then something happened …
I got very ill in March so much so that my body effectively was shutting
down. I had to stop all work and completely focus on getting well and
re-evaluating my whole lifestyle. Thankfully on the road to recovery I
ear-marked September to get back to work. I beat it by a month.
As I came back online I got whispers of a new Network Marketing company
pre-launching. “Here we go again” …me thinks. Except
this time it involved
the people that I most respected in NM, some of whom were my mentors …
and we weren’t even in the same company.
They say
“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. Well these
people were my teachers, nothing has changed there, except now we will
work within the same company.
These were the people who I emulated, who I based my advice on, who I had spent
hours listening to, who were kind enough to take time out their day to counsel me.
(One of them, for God’s sake, actually wrote the NM bible on how to choose an NM Co.)
And in turn I was able to do the same for some other Network Marketers.
Why? Because this is what Professional Network Marketers do!
We all hear the same blah…blah every time a new company launches,
“Oh the biggest NMrs in the world are jumping ship & joining ABC Co.”
What?
As we know you can’t base a decision on just that …
even if they are your mentors.
Emotions make great slaves but lousy masters.
It simply came down to a predominantly business decision…
and
here’s a few of mine.
Timing & easily adoptable technology.
Easy marketability of the product
Enormously high consumption levels
Price point - competes at supermarket shelf position
Competition – plenty (that’s a good thing!)
Market size
Societal Need & Interest
Environmental Impact
…. And this was all before I even looked at the compensation plan,
the tracking capability & the downright gorgeous (ok that was emotional girlie stuff)
people/team interactive application I have ever seen.
The other side of the coin – apart from business – As I see it, part of my ‘job’ is one whereby
I can truly help to make other peoples lives better, whether it is as a friend or in
business. Help them to achieve goals they may never have thought possible.
Whereby, I am
part of a profession that is the solution and not the problem.
Where professional network marketers, from ALL companies, through the Network Marketing
Revolution & MLM Mastery came together at the end 2008/beginning of 2009 and said as one voice that
we are here and willing to help you, no matter what company you are in. We run our businesses ethically with integrity & openness.
With these ‘not so new people’ and with this new company I believe our reach will help historic
levels of people in a new career and will be a positive landmark on the MLM playing field.
So as you can see it was as a result of many variables that I choose this new company.
Here’s what this is NOT:
It is not a call for those of you in NM Companies that are happy about where you are, to leave your company.
I do not, have never, and never will intentionally, downline, cross-line, up-line pirate from another organization.
The “mine is better than yours” brigade is unprofessional to say the least.
Here’s what this IS:
For those of you that are sitting on the fence, wondering how you are going to dump your
personal recession, then Network Marketing is one of your options and within that, this particular
business is the answer you are looking for. I don’t say that lightly.
If you want to

There are always plenty of frivolous reasons WHY NOT TO; the reasons WHY TO are much more important.
Here are two of my reasons WHY TO:
