I'm training to do my first half marathon. I had a baby 11 weeks ago and I quit my job to be a stay at home mom. I thought this would give me motivation to get back in shape. I'm already up to 4 miles. I know I still have a long way to go but going from having a c section and not being a runner before I got pregnant is pretty good.....atleast to me.

I did my first 20 mile ride today. It went really well. There was a time I wasn't sure I'd ever have the strength to do a 35 mile event (had a bad bike etc), now I don't think it will be a problem at all and I'm working on getting it done in a certain time frame. (3 hours) :) Thanks for the warm welcome.

Jackie that is awesome! It all starts with your first event. The important thing is that you have future goals too. I cannot wait to hear about your progress. Keep us all posted! Happy Training!

Hi everyone!! I recently took up cycling. I'm riding in my first organized ride next month (35 miles). Not really endurance lol ~ but my goal for next year is to do the Livestrong century and then in 2011 my goal is to do Bike Across Kansas ~ an 8 day trip across Kansas. Hopefully it's cool for me to stop by even though I'm not yet at the endurance level. :)

Thanks for the site info Tamara. Runnind has helped me loss to. I went from 145lbs to now 118lbs. Although I gained some since my surgery but only 5 lbs.

I know how you feel Gretchen, I myself had surgery june 3rd for a sport injury and its been 9 weeks almost and Im still in a cast. I wont get the cast off for another 2 weeks and then I have a lot of physical therapy to go through. All I want to do is get up and ran and dance. I hate it!! Im beginning to get blood blisters (fracture blisters) from being in a cast so long and Im losing all my muscle in my left leg. Good Luck girl!! Ill be up and going again by next year. I better be because my son loves running the mercades marothon every febuary. LOL

After being sidelined by a broken ankle this season, I am looking at my 2009 winter and 2010 race schedule. Could any of you share your favorite regional races (Triathlon, Running, Duathlon, etc)? I am open to just about anything. Being sidelined has me antsy to get my season scheduled. :)
Any feedback or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
