There are so many ways to combat it, but what works best for you?
For me, I end up pouring myself into my biz's more. Thankfully I have some good friends online now so I can IM them when I get extra lonely. PLUS, goodness, I'm a total twitter addict. lol I have my late-nite friends that I tweet back and forth for hours on and they make me giggle.
I've been trying to remember to keep more books around the house and read more as well. Just so I get off the computer and tv. It does help me to fall asleep earlier.
So what do you do when you find yourself getting extra lonely?
I have little kids, so lonely is not a problem! But when there is a lot of OT I do occasionally get resentful that I don't have 5 minutes to myself. I know when my youngest starts school I'll be in for a shock!
Oh loneliness is still a problem. It doesn't mean that you are alone all the time. It just means that you are longing for more. More adult stimulation perhaps.
But truly if you are not lonely I am not trying to put it in your head. lol I just don't want you to think that since you have someone's at home you can't be lonely. Lonely doesn't count bodies.
I used to laugh at people that were sad that I worked when the kids were little. I felt bad laughing, but I did tell them it was my paid vacation. lol It was so much easier to go to work and then just be done after a few hours. I had no one to worry about but myself and possibly cleaning. Taking care of customers is easy, I'm natural customer service. lol
But I personally had to work outside the home part-time. I just couldn't hack only being at home. But I had my Mom to watch the kids, so I was spoiled with the best of both worlds. :) I know that.
I was terribly lonely in the first few years so I told the hub's I wanted kids or a dog. He wasn't ready for a dog so we had two kids :) Now those little buggers went and grew up and mostly moved away (one moved home but he works nights so I only see him a few hours every week). Anyway, so here we are where we started 25 years ago - this time I got dogs :)

Connie, so awesome to see you here again!
My kids are early teens now, in other words they have lives now. lol
I inherited two little dogs almost 2 years ago and they are the light of my life. My kids joke that I love them more. But these dogs are with me ALL the time, they didn't go and grow up and get a life ;) LOL I'm very thankful for my little girls, but it's still not enough on all the days. I need to get in a better habit of getting together with girlfriends.
