Firefighter Wife

Wish You Could Know

I felt compelled to find this poem today as there was a post recently on our firewives forum about an article in a paper talking about a couple of MVA’s in a row and then what some people were posting in the comments after the article. Now I know that people will post things [...]

Will It Ever Get Easier?

As you probably saw in a previous post, our adjoining little fire department lost a firefighter. As I put in that post I said that I figured my hubby would know her and he did. She actually helped out with his EMT class ages ago when he first started as a volunteer. [...]

Update to Fallen Officer

Here’s the deal, I am deeply ingrained in the cops. I mean deeply, damn it I have some that are like brothers and I have a couple like sisters. I’m in the service industry completely. So, while I am a firefighter wife I hurt right now for the fallen officers family. It has [...]

Sadness for Fallen Fire and Police

It’s with a heavy heart that I post this super early am. I had another post planned but I will hit that later in the day. My husband was a volunteer for 8 years before getting hired on. He had the privilege of working pretty closely in the early years with the town next [...]

Hilarious Video

So I’m a little cranky at my husband today, he just doesn’t think to help me with my blogging. lol He was on youtube last night searching around and finding fire videos of course and found quite a few cool one’s. But he didn’t bookmark them! I told him he has [...]

I'm a newbie. My fiance and I have been together for almost 3 years, have a 19mo old son, and are getting married this Saturday. I'm sooooooo glad to have found out about this site and this group. My husband to be is a First Responder/Volunteer Firefighter. He also works full time with a local ambulance service. It's nice to be able to meet other women who will understand and appreciate the number of nights I've cried because I missed him so much. This business is in his blood...it's his life (well, it's OUR life). I still have my moments when I don't like things, but, at least now I will have others to talk to.

I'm new around here and just wanted to say hello. My husband is a firefighter in Louisville, KY. We've been married for 17 years and have 4 kids (ages 8, 10, 12, & 15). I look forward to learning my way around and getting to know you.

I hope I'm welcome here. I actually work in the fire serivice and come from a fire service family. My husband is a wildland firefighter and sometimes is called out for weeks at a time. I['m been in the fire service for 16 years and would love to support any of you moms with anything. I'm CajunMama at TravelingMamas.com and I am also the founder of The Traveling Firefighter, a newsletter sent out to fire departments around the US that includes travel discounts and specials, just for emergency service workers.

I think I am friendlier with my coworkers' wives than I am with my coworkers :) They always come to me to ask what they should give their wives for Christmas, anniversaries, etc.

Thought I'd share the results of our annual Fire/Police hockey match up!

Police, Firefighters Compete In Battle Of Badges: The second annual Chad Battle of the Badges was a heated conte.. http://tinyurl.com/bktal7

It's a great fundraiser for the Children's Hospital. We had to miss the game, but it looks like it was a good one!

Hello Everyone!

I am new to twitter and to this group...I am the daughter of a paid, full time FF...Daddy passed on 11 years ago this May but I am still proud of him....I also am the proud wife of Middlesex 2nd Assistant Chief Kevin Mott...a total volunteer fire department here in New Jersey. No one knows the life of a firefighters wife you are right....the many dinners ruined, BBQs where they leave and the many countless nights of waiting for them to come home safe....you know we all have been there...Glad to see you started this site for us to share and vent...
