If you think that exercising on an empty stomach will help you lose weight or burn more calories, think again. By not fueling up first, you only set yourself up for fatigue, which can shorten the duration and intensity of your workout - and in turn you’ll end up burning fewer calories. What to do? Eat a healthy snack or a Lean & Green Meal before exercising. Then you’ll be in good shape to lose weight!

By the way ya'll, this "Boot Camp" isn't like what you see on tv. It IS at a gym, but it is much easier. A little cardio first, then weight machines, stretching, etc. I could never do one of those real "Boot Camps". Very lucky too, because in my class there are only 3 of us plus the personal trainer. And the women are JUST like me (you know sometimes you feel intimidated by the other women because they are in so much better shape!). Having fun so far!

Hey guys. Good day. Good idea on the keeping the candy OUT of the house Marnie!!! You are right. If it's there: I'm eating it. As a matter of fact, I seem to like it even more than my kids!!! Had a good day. Boot camp this morning, had to do 100 of everything, but she was great about letting me rest when I needed to. Had a good eating day too. Haven't had any candy yet: but its just 9 p.m. The night is still young! Thanks ya'll for the encouragement. I need it!

Hi Melanie,
Get the Hersheys out of the house, you don't need it and your kids don't need it. I am not buying my Haloween candy untill the day before becuz I know we will eat it all. If its not there you can't be tempted. Good for you with bootcamp! Hang in there.

Hey Melanie - go for it! I can't even imagine doing that boot camp thing. As for the Hershey's, we all have our moments. Don't beat yourself up too much for it. I have found that having green grapes on hand, really helps when I just have to munch on something. I grab 6 or 7 grapes and usually it satisfies that urge and they are amazingly satisfying.

Ok. Bad eating day. Just hit the Hershey's (Bad!). But I did get up (at 5 a.m.) and walked this morning with the dog, about 45 min (including the two big hills!). Boot camp tomorow morning. I'm reaping yesterday's boot camp "rewards". Was so sore today, felt like someone beat me with a bat, especially when I bent down, knees hurt! Back at it at 5 a.m. tomorow. I'm also weighing everytime I go (ok guys haven't gotten on a scale in probably over 3 years and now I know the reason why). I'm sure tonight's candy didn't help, but trying!!!

Good for you Melanie!! On hitting Boot Camp at 5 AM AND for resisting the candy :-) It will all pay off. Keep up the great work!!
