twitter moms: the influential moms network

Your new textbox

I like to think of Twitter Moms as a giant cocktail party, with loads of interesting people to meet. However, as an introvert, cocktail parties make me nervous, so when I attend a blogger related function, I make myself move around the room by asking people I meet a simple question:

What is your favorite kitchen gadget?

Leave a comment and let me know. Include your blog and I will do a roundup in a week or so!

Looking forward to getting to know the rest of the foodie bloggers!

I think it's my bread machine. I just love the way you can throw all the ingredients in there in about 10 minutes, walk away, and come back in 3 hours or after work to fresh bread. And it make the whole house smell wonderful. I don't really have the patience for all that rising and kneading to do it myself. So, not really that sexy a gadget but I'd never have homemade bread otherwise. :)

My blog is Rock the Dinner Rush. It's about getting healthy dinners on the table in 20 minutes or less. Did I mention I don't have a lot of patience? :)

I don't blog about food YET!! In fact I don't blog much at all, I have the sites, but haven't used them, but I will be doing more now :D

I have recently attended a pampered chef party, and now have a lot of favourite kitchen tools!!
I recently was given a breadmaker, and LOVE it! I agree with Laura, how you can just toss everything in and the house smells great :D while I make bread in the breadmaker, I also make something else by hand, so it's perfect as I love to cook and bake!

Wow, I was given a bread machine and I have never used it. Now that Fall is here I should get it out and try it. I like the idea of using the making something "homemade" to go with bread from the bread maker. I do love fresh bread, but I always felt like I needed to make it myself. Now what is my favorite kithch tool? It's my Kithchenaid mixed, it's a workhorse and I love it.

Chaninging topic a bit but the next best thing in my kitchen is my DCS cooktop. If you are ever in the market for a new cooktop check-out DCS they cook amazingly well. Not as sexy as the Wolf but the temperature control on the DCS is amazing.

I would have to say it's my Kitchen Aid. I use it several times a week. Love it..I would love to get more attachments for it too. I did just get double ovens a couple of months back and I really like those too. I cant tell you how many people ask me, do you really use both ovens at the same time? Um yeah. Is it just me? LOL

My mother in law gave me an immersion blender. Wowsers what a cool tool. I use it to make velvety cream of broccoli soup or potato soup and hummus. She calls hers her "thunder stick". We have a family of 8, so pouring soup in batches into the food processor is tedious, but this thing... ya just stick it in the pot and hold on while it whirls.
Other than that, I really dig my noodle maker. I make my own noodles for grandma's chicken and dumplings. Usually one of the kids cranks it (to their great joy). Beats the heck outta using a rolling pin.
The kids consider it a special treat when we make noodles, I'm just a little to time oriented to do it for spaghetti, though.
I'm kind of old school. I like to make stuff from scratch or very close to scratch.

Hmm that is a hard question... Right now it would have to be my KitchenAid Stand Mixer... My DH gave it to me for Mother's Day about 6 years ago. It is one of the BEST presents I have ever received. I love love love that thing - especially around Christmas Cookie baking time. :) I really love my Pampered Chef baking stones too.

I have a recipe blog at: http://www.ourfamilysecrets.com

The one thing I can't live without in the kitchen - a good knife. Without that, I'm not sure I'd be able to cook.

My blog is Macaroni and Peas - I'm all about helping busy parents get healthy food on the table fast that their kids will love. I specialize in kids with food allergies and diabetes, picky eaters, and overweight kids.

My favorite would be my Vita-Mix. I make peanut butter with it, smothies, butter from grass-fed cream and so much more. I love it.

Oooooooo what a wonderful question and it is a GREAT icebreaker introduction question! Please take a moment of silence for Spottie's bread machine...thank you. Yes, it would have earned my fav award but I have given it up since I found a place that makes my beloved Greek Sweet Bread.
Does an ice tea maker count as a gadget? I don't technically think so...
Ugh, I don't believe I'm going to be so unimaginative but it is a gadget that I use daily on those dog food cans with no pop up tabs...yes, a can opener. A simple hand held can opener, the kind that takes the top off so that you can put the top back on with no sharp edges. Ugh, how boring am I!!! Okay wait, that's my most used daily favorite kitchen gadget so I can still give another one, right?
The winner is ...ugh, I can't do it. It will hurt so many of my gadgets feelings. ~*~

My KitchenAid stand mixer. OMG, I absolutely love it! I only have a few attachments, but I use it for everything. I start my breads, mix my cookies, start my cakes, use it to "mash/smash" potatoes, you name it I can find a use for my stand mixer.

Yes, I would have o say my set of knives--I hate going somewhere and not having them. I even bought my mom a "starter" set for Christmas because I couldn't stand the fact that she used a dull paring knife for everything! My favorite blade is a Santoku knife --it's great for getting most prep work done. And knife is only as good as it is sharp, so a nice steel is a must.
