Hi everyone,
I'm a full-time freelance writer and author of 3 books for major publishers. My newest book is "The Writer's Digest Guide to Query Letters" (January 2009, Writer's Digest Books) and is about getting published (novels, magazines, nonfiction books). I wanted to let you know that I host a Q & A with a different author EVERY DAY on my blog: http://askWendy.wordpress.com It's a cool way to read about how authors got published.

Hi Penny - have you considered freelancing as a copywriter or communications consultant? I've been doing this for 12 years now, and writing for business really does pay! Happy to share ideas and experience.
Good luck to you.

I would like to begin writing for income. I have been blogging for about 3 months now -- http://adhdmomma.blogspot.com. I worked as a creative and copywriter in comunications and advertising for a few years in what now seems like a past life. I have always wanted to write for a living. How do I get started? I would be very happy with writng for some web sites to start out with. Any advice, resources for a newcomer? Thanks! Penny

Hi all, professional tech writer and editor here looking to branch into a new phase with freelance work.

I blog at http://themusicalfruit.net and am slowly chipping away at a book idea I had about 100 years ago. I'm excited about freelancing but I SUCK at marketing myself so any ideas on actually getting the work would be much appreciated.

Really looking forward to seeing what this board produces, and can't wait to learn as much as I can from all of you!

Hi all! I've been a member for a bit but never introduced myself. I currently work full time in corp America but am working diligently to make freelancing a career. I blog at my personal blog (http://mamaheartsbaby.wordpress.com), for Latina magazine (http://latina.com/blogs/-mami-diaries) and will soon be blogging for two other sites as well. I've bartered some social media marketing services as well as writing service focused on marketing. I'm excited to learn from you ladies =)

Happy New Year, everyone! I'm a mom to a 3-year-old boy and a nearly 8-year-old girl, and have been freelancing part-time for about 9 years. I am also a member of the Moms who Write group; just discovered Freelance Moms this morning... I write copy for a PR firm and do some blogging for money and personally, have written for magazines, banks, consulting firms, worked as a proofreader for a publishing co., and more. I'm currently writing a memoir, which I've been shopping to agents for the last 6 months - this is the year I actually GET an agent!
