Tonight is National Family Game Night - what about video games?

I think the original idea was to turn off the electronic stuff and enjoy board or card games. All that is well and good, but I think the idea is to spend playful fun time together. There's a good article here at Robyn's Online World

That's all well and good - we often enjoy our restaurant time playing cards or dice games, and sometimes do the board thing at home. It's something we all like and it keeps my son from getting too fidgety in restaurants.

But I have to wonder about excluding video games in the mix. I've wondered if other families haven't yet discovered how you can have family times with video games too. Even a one player game can be shared and enjoyed together. What do you think?

I think video games should definitely be included! Whenever we all find the time to play Wii together, we have so much fun! I am sure it applies to other types of video games as well. After all, if it is something our kids enjoy playing, why not join them?!

Monica, I'm just curious, what Wii games do you play with your kids?

I am still trying to have kids, so none with mine... But I've played Wii many times with my husband, friends, and their kids (ages 4 through 9), and we all had a lot of fun. We play Wii bowling, Wii boxing, Wii baseball and Wii tennis.
