twitter moms: the influential moms network

I just find out today than I'm green but not holistic.

I recicle, I eat organic, I try not to use plastic, I breastefeed my baby, I use green and biodegradable products, but I didn't use a sling, I don't go to yoga clases, I didn't use cloth diapers for my baby, I had birth in a hospital, I love techology and I don't buy handmade.

Somebody can tell me what holistic means exactly? Please

I guess I always thought holistic was referring to health and not technology. Like not taking medications for sicknesses but using herbs. Not eating refined sugar but eating natural sugars found in fruits. Basically taking care of your body so that you don't get sick and then using the Earth to treat your symptoms. I guess I've even heard of it being taken to a spiritual level...not always though.
I haven't done any research- that's just what I thought.

Here is a definition straigt from webster:

of or relating to holism 2 : relating to or concerned with wholes or with complete systems rather than with the analysis of, treatment of, or dissection into parts
— ho·lis·ti·cal·ly Listen to the pronunciation of holistically \-ti-k(ə-)lē\ adverb

Holistic is to treat as a whole..mainly used in terms of looking after your body and health,
Eg-us mums must look after our stress levels to protect us from illness...mind/body/spirit are all connected.
reflexology-massage etc...are all holistic therapies because they deal with treating th whole body
