How green are you? It usually takes a woman to get most worthy movements started!

Hi Everyone - The Center for Safe Cosmetics released an alarming report yesterday. They tested 48 children's bath and personal care products including some BIG names like Johnson and Johnson, L'Oreal, Suave, Baby Magic, and American Girl - and found them contaminated with formaldehyde and 1,4-Dioxane, both known carcinogens, You can find the details in the blog column at http://www.greenparentsnetwork.com.

Really makes you wonder if those companies use their products on their own children!

Kidsconserve is a great idea ... here is another idea for eco-birthdays!

Happy Mais Building Blocks: a great eco-friendly activity and favor for birthday parties. Give every child a wet sponge and some HappyMais, the children will spend hours making nice and colorful toys which they will then take home. You can also put a few pieces in a recycled paper box and give them away as a very unique and eco-friendly favor.

HappyMais is made from mater-bi, a natural GM-free certified cornstarch material dyed with non-toxic food colorings. No glue needed and hence no mess! The starch contained in HappyMais works as a natural glue. HappyMais is totally biodegradable and compostable, all of which makes this a truly eco-friendly toy.

Hello, Green Mama's,

I am a SAHM, who loves to reduce-reuse-recycle. I am big on conserving water in my home and I absolutely hate litter. During the spring and summer when my daughter and I go for our walks I take a bag with me and pick up litter as we walk.

I have an Etsy store where I sell a wide variety of jewelry that uses recycled, upcycled, repurposed and rescued vintage pieces. I try to reuse anything I can get my hands on to create art. You can check out my Etsy store....

Thanks!
